I hear occidentals are very nice bags!! Im not in construction but got a husky tool belt from HD for $20 for my home projects. One thing i wish it had was a designated spot for my speed square and since im lefty i reversed the bags so the hammer loop is kinda in an awkward spot.

at my local Menards, they sell a decent pair of bags for around $70 that are basically a knockoff occidental leather bags, they can be swapped around and everything and have that spot for the speed square

Hey bro great video, very helpful. I am starting as a apprentice and currently on the out of work list. Every tool you mention I have except for the occidental I bought a CLC bag. My question is on the hammer I am undecided on which one to buy. Some say Stiletto? Martinez hammer? And some journey men mention the Milwaukee hammer. What advice would you give me. Thanks so much for this video.

You should get a separate bag for all your tools you don’t use on the daily, all you really need is hammer, square, chalk line, tape, pencil, knife. Everything else should be in a separate tool box or bag, that’s how I roll anyway. Keep grinding brother

same. I was just thinking about how much my back would be hurting carrying all of that all day long. my basic bag set up is speed square, chalk line, tape, utility knife, cats paw, 2 pencils, a marker, hammer, torpedo, 2 nail sets, 4 in 1 screwdriver, and Linesman Pliers (Kleins)

I dunno, I keep a few extra things in my bags so I'm not running back and forth to my toolbox. But if I don't need something for the day it gets put in the box for sure. I just like to find a balance and be flexible with what I carry depending on what I'm doing. If it's been in my bags a few days and I didn't need it I leave it out for awhile.

shut up you moron lol just because he has an accent doesnt mean hes not a professional. im sure your accent wreaks of rat tails and gravel driveways. you should judge a man on his work, not on how he talks. this man literally has some of the best brands of tools and shares a few tricks, like having your tape and square on one side of your body and pencil on the other for efficiency. he seems like a professional to me.

@@quan_ftw upon first impressions, accents usually tell where you come from and how you were raised which usually can give a client a good idea of your morals and trust worthiness. @jes.phx.01 's first impression of him based on his accent was "vato loco". would you trust a gang member, former gang member, or someone who was raised around gangs in your home? im sure wouldn't, i wouldn't even have him come over for an estimate if i spoke to him over the phone first. @jes.phx.01 is right, it's time for this carpenter to loose the "vato loco" accent and mentality and speak in a professional manner. if @jes.phx.01 's accent gives you the impression of dirt/gravel roads and rat tails, i would be under the impression that he/she grew up on a farm or lives on a farm. farmers and farmer's children are generally hard workers since childhood. dirt/gravel roads & rat tails > vato loco.
