CARP FISHING ~ Spring Baiting Tactics Challenge (Rippton CatchX Bait Boat first look)

Ойын-сауық

Carp Fishing in spring often involves fishing singles or a small amount of bait to try and nick a bite from carp that are not feeding heavily. I want to challenge this and test whether heavy baiting will work at this time of year. I also have a look at the Rippton CatchX Bait Boat and use it to catch a lovely spring carp.

    Another great video. I like to use a fruity bright hook bait with a solid bag, and then scatter 20/30 freebies over it. Pineapple fluro wafter i tend to go for. Il chuck a zig out aswell and switch tactics over if the zig dose well.

    Simon, Like your little challenges, great to start discuss. Think there are to many variables to conclude, generally. How a lake takes to baiting in spring and was it the spot you caught on, was a more natural feeding spot and as you said stock levels. Nice 20Iber to start you off. I have had two blanks at my club lake, fish were not showing; last session 3 weeks ago, short days. I tried single chods and solid PVA bags (lots of pads in lake, dead pads or rejuvenating pads). Kept away from fishmeals, using creamy maple mix boliies chops and crumb with maggots. I’m thinking not on the fish and they hadn’t really woken up. Next session back on the krill boilies and pellets.

    Hi Simon I'm fairly new to carp fishing and just wondering if a shorter hair is better for smaller carp and longer for bigger carp or does it not make a difference

  • @SimonDewCarpFishing

    @SimonDewCarpFishing

    3 жыл бұрын

    Hi mate cheers for your comment. For me hair length has more to do with bait size really but the size of fish does play a part. Imagine a 20mm boilie close to the hook there's little chance the hook can move enough to hook the fish. So longer hairs for bigger baits. I tend to change the length of the whole rig depending on size of fish not just the hair.

    Spring fishing is SO frustrating... totally unpredictable. In the lake I'm on at the mo the fish never show, so in early spring you're literally in the dark and blank more often than not. Late spring onwards the fish get into a rythm and become catchable again. Right time, right place and all that. No such thing in spring.

  • @SimonDewCarpFishing

    @SimonDewCarpFishing

    3 жыл бұрын

    Yes I agree spring can be really tricky especially with changing conditions and night time temperatures getting low. Sometimes it can be the best time of year and other ties the worst!
