Love seeing you give Carowinds some love. That's my home park and I was a costumed character there for 6 years. Very underrated park with some great coasters.

So glad you enjoyed coming to the Carolina’s! Thank you for taking the time out to come to the smaller theme parks

Carowinds isn’t really a small park but it’s definitely not considered a must-see in America although it should be. It’s had many staples in history, one of which being the Carolina cyclone; the first 4-inversion roller coaster.
I shared this with my kids: when they were little, we lived there in Charlotte and would go there for Mother's Day....NOTHING looks the same! Ah...memories!
This is the first time I see a theme park that is located in two states at once! It is very unique!

Glad you guys enjoy Carowinds!! It's my homework and I'm a former ride supervisor as well for 7yrs during the paramount days. As Far as logistics with rides, it's basically state specific. So if a rides station is in NC then that ride must take on NC laws and commissioning. The same goes for any ride stations in SC. As for the Fury hornet, It's just a loose theme around the Charlotte Hornets NBA team. Same go with Intimidator tied to of course NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt, a big deal in Charlotte. Fun Facts: Goldrusher is original to the park. The gum wall is a tradition lol. Use to be one in the queue tunnel of Hurler too. Copperhead Strike has not thing to do with a snake. It's a play on words type of deal. The theme and story line is that grandma is an award winning jam maker for the fair. You (riders) are snooping around to see what her secret and realize she makes and uses moonshine. So the name Copperhead is actually coming from the copper top or head of the machine used to make moonshine, hence why on the ride sign the snake is made out of copper piping if you noticed lol.
I love how Jackie looks at the bungee ride and says "that doesn't look too bad!" and I'm like "could never be me." Love your videos as always!

I just adore this series so much. I still can't believe your timing on it, and it's so much fun for me to watch all these videos of places I'll soon live close enough to road trip myself. So happy you and Sam have gotten this opportunity and thank you for the unique way you cover these places!!!
Vortex is actually crazy smooth this season. My wife finally gave in and agreed to ride it again and even she liked it. We rode it twice.
Thank you immensly for saving tens of thousands of people from vortex and its pain.(Especially for short guys)
Thank you for visiting South Carolina 😊
it really makes me smile watching this. brings back so many great memories. i can't wait til i have children one day. haha they will love carowinds! great video!
Good to have a healthy option - and LOTS of it
9:50 the carousel used to be in Evansville Indiana next to the Mesker park zoo. The carousel was privately owned and sold to the Carolwinds in the early 1980s. Thank you for showing the carousel.
I’m from Florida. The way I got to go to Carowinds was through a band competition! It’s so cool to see they are still doing this 25 years laters!! #bandgeeksunite
I like watching these types of videos to kind of get a preview for them or just watch them for fun😊
Fury 325 may in fact be one of the greatest coasters ever created. It's definitely in my top 5.
I grew up in North Carolina and had season passes to Carowinds almost every year. Love seeing it again since it's been a hot minute. We always bounced between states, too. It probably drove the parents nuts after the umpteenth time, lol
Every Cedar Fair park you go to… you get a little closer to Cedar Point. That’s going to be my favorite video of all. ☺️☺️☺️ I can’t wait to see how y’all feel about that park.

Haha yes we are inching our way there! Kinda waiting for the parks to fully open for the season bc right now they’re mostly only open weekends and it makes it hard to plan a multi day trip. But SOON!
I love Carowinds, Fury front row is my favorite ride, so is Intimidator front row, Afterburn front row, Copperhead Strike, zephyr southern star Carolina Cyclone Drop Tower Electro Spin,
Love this channel, congrats on 100K girl. Glad to share the same name as Sam as well.🥃
Wow the production on these videos just keeps getting better, its like watching a movie! Really interesting quirky park and great to hear the mention of some UK rides in comparison! Fab Fab Fab! 🎢💈

Sam didn't pull any punches on the Vortex review. Love it!

That was like me after Intimidator 305 😂 we all have our “never again” coasters
I grew up in Charlotte and lived 6 minutes from Carowinds. I spent pretty much every day of the summer from middle school through high school at Carowinds. One time when I was riding the Vortex, the harness popped up right before the first drop. I grabbed it and bear hugged it for the rest of the ride. It was crazy! It has changed a lot since then! I'll have to make a trip back sometime soon.

@@SuperEnthused It was. But I was young and dumb. So it didn't stop me from riding it. I was back on it later that week. If you guys make it back to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, make sure you go to the Mysterious Mansion. As fellow HHN fans, I think you guys would really enjoy it!
The "J.R. Helms Mining Co" sign on Goldrusher is a tribute to a long time employee Jerry Helms. He started as a seasonal employee during the first season in 1973 and retired last year as a vice president of operations. Carowinds does get ride and restaurant inspections from both states. When I worked there, we had some different alcohol laws that had to be followed depending on what restaurant you were working. Also security guards have the certification to arrest someone in one state, I think SC, but not the other. Also if they have an emergency, many times, fire departments from both states respond.
Loved White Lightning, the Monorail, the Sternwheeler, the log flume, and Thunder Road. All gone. Carowinds has such a history with all of the companies that owned it and changed the theming. The Hard Rock Park/Freestyle Music Park that Sam did a video on his channel some time ago probably went bankrupt partly because of Carowinds already being the favorite in the Carolinas. People went to Myrtle Beach to enjoy the beach not to travel back inland to go to a pricy thrill ride park. Also, NC and SC residents have always had a good relationship. Once on a plane out of Charlotte, the NC and SC folks were happily chatting about where they were from UNTIL when we flew over the mountains, a gust of wind hit the plane. It was a sudden drop. It felt ike the scariest roller coaster ride you ever felt. Everyone hushed! People were frightened. Winds are common in the mountains and beach (hence, why the Wright brothers came to NC to test their new plane). So Carowinds is a good name.
Word of advice for those that haven't been, purchase things on the south Carolina side. Less tax.

Ah didn’t know that!
The night hawk scared me a lot it was the first ever roller coaster I’ve ever been on but I conquered it
So glad their b&m invert is holding up so well.
Another fun adventure. Never heard of this place but it looks like my kind of place.
I lived about an hour and a half from Carowinds growing up. Went there on a school trip and rode the Carolina Cyclone, which at the time was the world's first double looping coaster ( Coasters have certainly come a loooong way since then) Haven't been in more than 30 years since I moved to the mountains only an hour from Dollywood.
I’m only eight. And the copperhead is my favorite ride. My first time I was super scared, but then I rode it three times in a row - edited by mom: he was very brave

A theme Park in the middle of two states …that’s crazy!!!! So unique!!! Those look like some scary roller coasters… I’m so used to the tame ones at Disney World. I sure would like to visit this park though.

I enjoy exploring new amusement parks with y’all! Thanks for a fun day at Carowinds, how neat that it embraces the two Carolina’s! Snoopy is the best.
one of the best series you've ever done. we enjoyed every video immensely. Glad that you finally made Dollywood, but all the parks were nostalgic for me. Thanks Jackie. you and Sam has made me and my fiancee smile and laugh more then we have in months.
I love carowinds!
Hi Jackie and Sam. Thank you for bringing us along on this Epic Road Trip. Love the new shades. Now on to the next Adventure.
I really love you guys! Thanks for an amazing visit to Carowinds!
Did I mention Natural Bridge Zoo and Caverns :). Great video guys keep it up
So glad you like after burn my first upside down ride my favorite I ride that 6 times or more with my brother copperhead I loved but the loops were too slow and at the end I got more Nauseous
This is my home theme park and I agree the vortex is not a great ride. The cyclone is my favorite ride. It was the first upside down ride that I rode.
I can’t believe you came to Carowinds!!!!!!! Your in my back yard!!!!! So exciting
Jackie, you have now officially LIVED... just by having 1 foot in 2 states!! Great entertaining coverage as usual . Thank You Jackie & Sam for taking us along with your adventure !

Loving this road trip! Carowinds was the best, especially Camp Snoopy! I love Snoopy :)
I visited Carowinds for the first time in 2017 and it was lots of fun. I definitely agree that Fury 325 is the best ride in the park. Copperhead Strike wasn't built yet when I went, but I was able to go again this past Summer and got to ride that and I enjoyed it, but I was only able to get 1 ride on it so far. I agree with Sam about Vortex. My first ride on there in 2017 was a miserable, painful experience and I couldn't wait to get off that ride. I rode it again last Summer and it was a little better, but still not great. I think how you stand when you ride definitely affects the experience. Intimidator is another great ride. Not sure if you all got to ride it or not, but this one was my first B&M with the staggered seating. Glad you all enjoyed your visit!
Oh my gosh yay!!!! I’m so happy y’all went and had a great time!! Yeah I am not a fan of Vortex either 🤣!! But I do love some Copperhead!! When my friend and I go I’ll ride it 3 times in a row and she will sit it out because it’s tooo much! 🤣❤️
What a great day at Carowinds! Another fun roller coaster day with you 2!! :)
So many memories at that park. The Woodstock Express used to be the Scooby Doo Roller Coaster. It was my first roller coaster. The one major negative at Carowinds is that there is no shade at all! Those Carolina summers are rough at that park. Awesome video!

Jackie so glad you made it! I love 80 miles North of there and spent most of my younger years there! Welcome!!!
You were literally 10 minutes from us. Maybe next time we'll catch you up here. You weren't far from the old Heritage USA either. FURY is amazing.❤❤❤ Scareowinds is a lot of fun.You and Sam have a spectacular weekend.
I like the premise of a theme park in two different states, it's one of a kind in a sense. It's the little things that matter! I've noticed that these parks affiliated with Cedar Fair like Carowinds, Kings Dominion, etc all have a similar vibe but they all have there own personality! Also, this entire road trip was so much fun to watch! Thank you for bringing your enthusiasm to every vlog you make! It really shows!

Great fun as always!! Haha! Front row on a rollie coastie is scary good fun!🤟🙏💜
I last visited Carowinds the year Fury opened. I know I'm in the minority, but I'm not a huge fan of the park. I liked Fury, but thought it was overrated. Intimidator was better than I thought it would be, and Afterburn was a very pleasant surprise. I liked the food at Harmony Hall. Kings Dominion is my home park, and I'd love to see them get something like that. The rest of the park just didn't do much for me. That being said, I'm hoping to get there this summer, and ride Copperhead. That ride seems like it'd be right up my alley. Glad you guys had a good time. Even when you're not completely taken by a park, a first visit is still something that sticks with you, and can be really special!
I love this amusement parks carowinds I love every rollercoasters they have a water park I have tryed that yet but I love to go on some water rides I’m from Myrtle Beach South Carolina

Great video!! Carowinds is our home park as we live 15 minutes away. My kids are 10, 9 and 6 and have grown up here and developed my love of amusement/theme parks. Fury, Intimidator, Copperhead Strike, After Burn are all top class coasters and glad you liked Goldrusher...it is a classic ride there and a great medium coaster for the young ones. Sam is 100% correct about Vortex...I despise that ride and only do it if one of the kids asks.
I love Carowinds, I used to go all the time when I was younger....
So glad you made it to Carowinds! We always enter in the South Carolina side. Glad you and Sam had so much fun.
That lunch looked PERFECT for a diabetic or someone just watching their diet. This is something I struggle with when going to theme parks.

Love you guys!! You are so cute together and your vids are very interesting! We have been to many of the parks you are visiting and you are bringing back so many memories!!
Awesome. So glad you are in our neck of the woods! I worked there all 3 summers in HS. Loved it. Had a blast. Worked on the twin wooden roller coaster Thunder Road. No longer there. You would have loved that one. Hope everyone was welcoming and friendly in NC/SC! Thanks for showing our park. They use to have great concerts as well in the palladium.
So glad you made it to my home park and had an amazing time! It's a great time during any season, Spring, Summer during Carolina Harbor days and Scarowinds in the Fall! You'll have to go back during the Winter and go ice skating!
The Intimidator is my favorite ride there, the park has a good selection of rides and I love Snoopy so to me it's a great park
Enjoyed seeing you Jackie, & Sam at Carowinds! Glad you both got to enjoy the park. Camp Snoopy's a cute area. I liked Carowinds. I hope you & Sam get to experience Kennywood Amusement Park in West Mifflin, Pa.. I loved Kennywood! I did visit Carowinds & rode their wooden coaster. That was so long ago. Don't have any Kids now. Just enjoy your videos! Hope you both have a wonderful Mothers Day weekend.

It was so nice meeting you both the other day! Y'all they are so sweet in person 💗 Sidenote: I'm thrilled to have had it in one of your videos lol.
My husband, son, and uncle didn't like vortex either. They loved fury. That was their favorite.
Rollercoaster at carowinds rock !
Great road trip. You guys win the National Rollercoaster Award 🎢! Safe trip home & see you back at the 🏰 Castle! 🎥
Jackie and Sam,I simply enjoy watching your adventures! You had mentioned while visiting Carowinds how you would like to visit every amusement park and I immediately thought how the two of you would really enjoy Holiday World & Splashing Safari, located in Santa Claus,Indiana which is just 30 minutes from me! It is the very first amusement park in the U.S,the world's largest water park and the very first wooden roller coaster AND one of the best ones too! I know you love water slides and coasters and I know you would really enjoy Holiday World & Splashing Safari and of course a beautiful road trip to Southern Indiana! XOXO
So fun we are heading to Carowinds in a few weeks 🎉
Another theme park, yeah👏. It's awesome to see other theme parks and other sights. Rollercoasters aren't my type of fun, but I like watching people ride them😆. I have motion sickness and a bad hip, so it's hard to ride certain things. I love the enthusiastic info and fun time. Thanks. Be Safe Take Care ❤️
Welcome to my home town hopefully you enjoyed your visit.
I loved the Carolina Cyclone as a kid, first ride I ever held my hands up on.
I’ve been carowinds so many times like I’m 15 rn and I’ve been going since I was able to walk & my parents never took me into harmony hall so it was nice to see what it look likes inside so thank you for vlogging that
My legs fall asleep on standing coasters so I avoid them. Good for Sam for trying it! Been many years since I went to Carowinds! Keep up this type of vlogs…love it!
