You know when you sort of like an artist on the periphery? Like you’ve heard a song or two and like it just fine, but you wouldn’t necessarily call yourself a fan? Then suddenly for whatever reason they just click and you start consuming all their material? This performance was that “ok, I get it” moment for me with Caroline Polachek. This set was amazing and she and her whole band are really doing something here.

Great to have another session from Caroline. Personally, she is up there for me with other beautiful Ariel musical spirits like Julianna Barwick, Julia Holter, Alice Bowman and PJ Harvey and Bess Atwell. Whilst their styles might differ, I still believe there is a shared commonality in the fact that they create songs that are often haunting, floaty, spacey, transcendental and spiritual. Lovely.

Oh wow, just realized I saw her perform in NY back when she was Chairlift. Loved her performance then and man it's great to see her evolution since too!

Really beautiful! Thank you, KEXP for sharing all these wonderful musicians with us! Question: About the LED-Lights in the background: I am looking for these for a while. From which brand / company are these? Couldnt find them or where to get them.Would love to get them for my photography in the background. Greetings from Vienna, Austria! 👋

I've never heard of her and I have a feeling this is gonna be one of those things where I like the live version of these songs better than the studio version cause I heard it first. Crazy talent from everyone!

You can't let yourself miss out anymore, go go go! Let us know how it felt listening to her albums for the first time! My favorite is still Arcadia (one she released under Ramona Lisa name)
