Carolina Renaissance Festival | Fairhaven | Complete Walkthrough 2022
The Carolina Renaissance Festival is a 25 acre renaissance themed amusement park and one of the largest Renaissance fairs in America. The Festival is set in a fictional storybook village of "Fairhaven" and nestled within 325 acres of autumn woodlands.
Inside the village gates are over 140 merchants, crafters, and artisans. Sixteen outdoor stages are used for theater, comedy, music, dance, magic, circus entertainments, swimming mermaids, and live falconry demonstrations. Hundreds of costumed villagers and fantasy characters roam the lanes offering additional interactive entertainment. The Festival's premier attractions feature knights on horseback jousting three times daily inside the Queen's tournament arena, Falconry presentations, and Swimming Mermaids. The Festival is held annually on Saturdays and Sundays in October and November and three consecutive week dates in October as a field trip destination for area schools. The Festival is located just north of Charlotte, North Carolina between the towns of Huntersville and Concord near the intersection of 73 and Poplar Tent Road and with equal distance access to I-77 and I-85. An average of 195,000 visitors time travel to the Festival during its fall season.

Immigrant here never heard of this kind of festival. Heard from coworkers. Great festival Thank you for video.
My husband’s favorite part this year was the dragon forge experience! He loves getting to make his own rail road spike knife. So the prices you see in the video aren’t just for the item but for you to get the experience making the item! So cool love the video

I'm so happy you enjoyed our video. ❤️ I'm looking forward to the 2023 season.
Thank you for uploading. I can't wait to go this Saturday!
I was thrilled to see my self in this video 7:53 is when I saw myself barely in the background with the other kids doing a skit
It’s been a decade + couple months since I last been. It looks sooooo different. I was in 6th grade when I went lol, 11 years old to 22. Can’t wait to go with my family tomorrow, and drink some adult beverages, and have complete freedom compared to middle school.
wow, i used to go here EVERY fall with my mom as a kid/preteen, before she got sick/disabled and we couldn't go as often any more. so many fond memories, and rides that i was oddly terrified of (i'm a scaredy cat lol). i remember at one point completely panicking inside the dungeon and running out at full speed past all the actors + props. LMAO! the fish and chips was always to die for. and we always had fun looking at the artisanal jewelery, goods and food. thank you for a walk down memory lane. 💗i still plan to revisit some time with friends one day when i can. 💟
Yeah man! Im going on 11/13/22, and I'm a theatre kid, I'm going to love it again this year
Amazing video!
You guys did an awesome job of showing us everything!

Great place. I thought I was watching Michigan. In holly, all the actors speak with an English dialect. Often old English but it's more practical for the public understanding. As a wine drinker, I enjoyed my first mead. Honey wine

They speak in old English, Scottish and Irish Accents. Some also speak in Gaelic as well. I'm Scott/Irish myself. A good friend of mine is a master brewer of mead. Good stuff.🙂

This REALLY makes me homesick. I haven’t been there since I moved out of the country 10 years ago. :(
Great video. Nice to watch. I've only ever been to the Arizona Renaissance Festival, which I attended almost every weekend for some 25 years, until a few years ago when I became disabled and wheelchair bound. It's great to see many of the same acts, artists and vendors that I've seen and met in Arizona for many years. Don Juan and Miguel were always a favorite. It's especially nice to see how green and cool everything is, with grass and trees everywhere. Arizona is unfortunately a little dry, shade is at a premium, and by the end of its run in March it's starts to get uncomfortably warm. Is there a national organization for Renaissance festivals? Watching multiple videos of festivals from around the country I noticed that much of the signage and building designs are identical. Were the signs all made and painted by the same people, or are they moved from festival to festival?

Both Arizona and Carolina Renaissance Festival are managed by Royal Faires, Ltd., You will see many similarities between the both. There are other companies, like Royal Faires, that own and run Festivals across the United States. 🙂

Tried my best to find you this year but couldn’t, at least you found me though!
I'm trying so hard to get a permission to metal detect these fairgrounds. So many interesting artifacts are likely lost in/on the ground here just waiting to be recovered. Hopefully I can work something out with Fairhaven so my son and I can make a pass over the fields!
Hi! been loving these videos, gathering as much information as possible for my trip this year. Question! have you had any experience carrying prop weapons to the event? I read on the website they need to be blunted, peace tied and sheathed. I understand all that, but, are they rather particular on how blunted? like are non sharpened metal wall hanger swords okay, or are we talking flat steel stage combat type swords with no tip. Thanks!
@toddventure
Жыл бұрын
Hey there! Great question. Real or not, blunt or sharpened they will be peace tied. The weapons must remain sheathed or holstered at all times. Spears or larger weapons can be slung over your shoulder and peace tied, Bows and crossbows are allowed but never cocked or loaded. Hope that helps.😀

Quick question. I'm going to go to this festival next week. Do alot of these gift stores have pay with card options or should I bring some cash in hand before I come here.
@toddventure
Жыл бұрын
I would say the majority do take card if not all do. Some of the items can definitely be expensive.
@toddventure

I would also recommend having cash mainly for food and drink.
Do you happen to know if the stores take card at all, does it have to be cash?
@toddventure

Most, if not all, vendors do take CC. But for Food and Beverage it's better to have cash.

@@toddventure thank you so much. I have a last question. How expensive are the costumes , hats, and all that type of stuff. I was planning to order from amazon so we could arrive all dressed up because amazon has some affordable costumes for like $30-35 dollars, but I saw so many beautiful stores in your video. Not sure if I should just buy it there and change there. Are they like expensive over $100 ? Because if so I rather order in amazon. Its 4 of us so it can be pricey.
Does anyone know if any of these vendors sell quivers for arrows

I respectfully suggest an improvement for your video . I'm only 7 minutes into it , my apologies if I see it later. The hats and socks are cool, but the authentic clothing was too far from the camera. I could tell that many of these were truly detailed works of art. The video didn't do them justice. You can come as anything and any period. It's about history and having a good time. 🙂 You'll find all time lines of history. It's about sharing your culture and history as well.
There's no point going here anymore. They are letting over 40,000 people in apparently and the site is only rated for 20,000 max, which is still overkill. During the weekends its so packed you can barely move around, and once you've been one time you'll see all the same jokes and shows repeated ad nauseam. Example is london broil jugglers. They've been doing the same tricks and jokes for the past decade there. It gets old fast. The food is overpriced junk. No one does roleplaying at all and the worst part is the trekkies or doctor who fans who show up and try to crash the place. Even when they've been given their own day they still show up on the off-days and take everyone who's in character out of the element. Terrible fair whos managers only care about the almighty dollar.
