That wasn't Carolina Beach, mostly. It was a lot of North Kure Beach.
Used to live there awhile back.loved it
noticed most of the home is on stilts because of the close proximity of the beach tide
yeah the ocean can come in during a hurricane sometimes this "storm surge" can be 12 feet high.
