You’re talking in 1974 and that style holds up that woman could walk into a room with that same outfit 41 years later 2024 and the hot nightclub at the casino and still get looks, which is truly amazing because the 70s were whack. I was only a little kid when this came out. I honestly thought it could have been Robert Reed's brother. Look at his face--it seemed similar. Did you ever read Barry Williams' book "Growing Up Brady?" It has a lot of fun insider stuff. Maybe one day Eve Plumb will write a book! 😂 I bet you're in your late 50s. I only saw an episode or two of the original airing. Friday night on ABC? I was probably 8 before 3rd grade began in 1974. The real Brady cult formed in syndication .

This episode would’ve been very different if Gene Hackman was actually cast, like he was supposed to be. Mike would have dragged Tank up the stairs and thrown him down the stairs, and would have proceeded to drag him back out to his car.

I think in this circumstance, the trope was definitely flipped on its side! Mike might have had a tinge of jealousy/protectiveness when Tank picked up Carol, but it was fun to see that he quicky became relaxed started casually eating snacks when if was more than obvious that he not only had nothing to worry about, but Carol would be even more grateful to have Mike as a husband once the guy left.

So, I really do not get this. In an earlier episode, the one that focused on Cindy's lisp, Carol said that she also had a lisping problem as a child, and that it was especially bad for her because she grew up in Swampscott, Massachusetts. However, this episode, and also the one where her grandmother visits, pretty much reveal that she grew up somewhere in the Heartland. This dude and her grandmother did not have New England accents!

@@eastleford20 I was a kid when I first saw this ep, and thought Carol should not have even asked and told Tank to get lost. Tank, I’m married for the second time and have kids. Go away. Mike wasn’t happy about it either, but the writers had to teach us a lesson about jealousy, I guess. Of course they made Tank a dolt, so no problemo.

What a total pain in the butt this guy is. I'd be ready to throw him out before he even crossed the threshold. Seems he hasn't had much to do since high school since he remembers every detail of some game he played way back when. Reminds me of an episode of the Waltons where John's old army buddy comes to visit and all he can talk about is the old days when they fought in the war (WWI) and he hasn't moved past that and made a life since the war. Tank hasn't moved an inch since high school. For all his bragging, he was not an NFL star.

"Tank" also played some guy on "I Dream Of Jeannie" who was after "Bunky [Anthony] Nelson," because he thought Bunky was trying to steal his girlfriend. Enter Jeannie to the rescue, but that's another show.
