    That’s exactly how I started, last year the week before Halloween. Monday, 10/24/22 I said “just for today, I’m going to not put sugar in my coffee.” I had no sugar or sweeteners all day (and ate just meat, eggs and dairy). That day was easy so I decided to do the work week. Well on Friday morning, I woke up with no pain at all for the first time in 15 years. I felt so good, I decided to keep going. Got through Halloween, a wedding, Thanksgiving and Christmas & I felt so good, I wasn’t even tempted! Haven’t looked back!

    Beth here, I'm 63...been watching you for quite awhile and enjoy your common sense content. I'm a gardener and during the season I will eat whatever is harvested from my garden in season, in moderation of course. I still consider myself carnivore, eating only meat bought from the local farmers and only real food from my garden. I do have to admit that my body feels better when it's only consuming animal products but....MY GARDEN gives me joy so I enjoy.

    I highly recommend sleeping in separate beds, possibly rooms. I have a terrible time falling asleep if my husband is there but if he's gone, BOOM, dead to the world instantly. It makes a huge difference and getting a good quality sleep is way more important than sleeping with your spouse... who cares, you are supposed to both be asleep anyway. lol

    I have found a freedom with the diet I never knew before. I eat carnivore all day every day, and so when I then "splurge" and have a dessert, or a vegetable, or a fruit, or eat at a restaurant, I am typically just fine. [insert pun about having cake and eating it too] The danger is finding yourself out and about without a plan, not having enough meat thawed and ready for prep, or keeping foods heavy in carbs, oxalates, and seed oils around the house. Always have your carnivore foods at-the-ready, and make getting anything else a chore and you are less likely to default to them. Go out into the world with a full stomach and you will avoid grabbing quick sugary/oily/crappy snacks. But then you absolutely can enjoy a different thing every now and then! Be honest with yourself. Start by eliminating down to a few ingredients: beef, water, salt, eggs. Then find other carnivore-friendly things to add first: pork, chicken, fish, maybe dairy. Then see what you can add that doesn't bother you or throw you off.

    You look really good. I've been vegan for 5 and 1/2 years and I feel really weird going carnivore. I was so against it for so long but I've decided to give it a try because I've become desperate to reverse my autoimmune disorders. I'm on day 10 of just beef and water and the adaptation phase is really rough for me. I still feel terrible to be honest but ima stick it out cuz I already came this far and if I don't give this a fair shot then I'll always be wondering if this truly could've been the answer to my problems.

    I am about a week in on carnivore. I also started the week I had a severe cold virus(not Covid)going around my area. I have always loved meat and fat and feel like this is how my body wants to eat. I am facing some burnout and am making sure to add variety. What I was not prepared for was the explosive diarrhea. I feel like the LMNT is vital for me right now or I would be dehydrated. My blood sugar has been a dream(type2). When at the Dr’s office yesterday I did mention what I was doing and she didn’t freak, just said we would check bloodwork in 3 months., so thanks for the info on how to eat/fast for that. I have added Realsalt to my kitchen. Thanks for your insight and encouragement. Oh and I think I’m seeing an improvement in my facial skin, not as dry.

    Yes, you take your triglycerides and divide the number by the HDL. If your HDL is high, your doctor will be MOST pleased. My doctor said ignore the LDL. There is a ‘new way’ to understand the cholesterol panel. ALSO, get a CAC test for how high is your calcium. ZERO is the perfect score.

Dr. Berry and Dr. Berg are also good online resources. I also do intermittent fasting which helps with my blood sugar since Type 2 runs rampant in my family. I am the only one who doesn’t have it. Has anyone had any skin issues on carnivore? My only complaint since I started is that my lips are super dry and peeling. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. The only thing I have not cut out is black, organic coffee. Maybe that’s the issue? Other than that, this is the most incredible way of eating. All my aches and pains are gone and I sleep as well as my husband now haha

    Same on the hunger… I’m 59 and I think that’s part of it, but I do the 16/8 eating, so I eat between 12-8, or 11-7 and find that I’ll get hungry when I stick to the 16 hr fasting between last meal. I can’t eat as much as Laura… But each journey is different. Are you doing strict carnivore? As in Meat, butter, eggs etc…or are you incorporating dairy and cheese and spices? As for making eggs more appealing, I change them up as much as possible. My most recent discovery is boiled egg pudding which oddly doesn’t taste like egg at all once it sits in the fridge overnight. I use the Equip Prime protein to flavor it to a chocolate pudding plus it adds more protein to my diet which as I said, I have a hard time eating enough protein. If I stick to the 16/8 hr. eating I do get somewhat more hungry. I hope this helps… It stinks to hit a wall and have food become unappealing. 🦋Lily🦋

    If a 200 lb person eats 200 grams of meat that’s a little over 7 ounces? A day? That’s all??

    1 gram of protein per pound of body weight, right? So that would be 200g?

  • @terised

    @terised

    9 ай бұрын

    200 grams of protein in NOT a weight measurement. Protein is a portion of the meat, along with fat and water. Sixteen ounces of ribeye is 62.71% water, 29.62% protein, and 7.67% fat. The macros would be approx 88 grams of protein, 80 grams of fat, 0 carbs. If you are trying to lose weight at 200 lbs, you wouldn't want to be eating 200 grams of protein. The usual formula uses either your goal weight or ideal weight. For example, if your ideal body weight is 125 then aim for about 125 grams of protein per day, which would be about 22.5 oz of ribeye using the above information. Other types of beef and other meats will vary.

  • @celeste-236

    @celeste-236

    4 ай бұрын

    No. Here’s what the proper ratio is:1 gram of PROTEIN per pound of DESIRED body weight. For example, if your current weight is 200 lbs but you want to weigh 150lbs. then you would be eating 150 grams of PROTEIN daily, spread out over your meals. Using eggs as an example, since each egg is 6 grams of protein & if you ate 6 eggs at your first meal, that’s 36 grams of protein towards the 150 that you’re aiming for daily. As far as meat, you’d weigh it on a scale and ask google “how many grams of protein in 7 ounce ribeye (or NY strip steak) “? Because You(or goggle)need to convert the ounces of meat, into grams of protein. And you need to do that with each item you eat.

    Hi Michelle 😊 what are you eating exactly and how frequently? For perspective, I also need to lose about 90lbs. Also had very bad inflammation, and foot cramps made it hard to walk, bloating and aches and water retention. A lot of that inflammation has gone down in 2 months, still a way to go. I eat on average a 260g steak cooked in butter, and 1 avocado and small bit of cheese for dinner, sometimes some fried or boiled eggs. For lunch at 1pm I have 2 chicken thighs, a small bit of cheese and a couple sausages. But thats just 1 example. I'll have some oily fish like salmon once a week. Swap out the steak for some lamb chops. Or have a chicken broth with cream and shredded chicken. Or meatballs in a beef stock and cream sauce. Or as a treat I make a beef stew or braised ribs with some veg and a tomato and beef stock sauce on a bit of butternut mash. Snacks are salami, cheese, pork crackling or biltong. Coffee with no milk or sugar. Only decaff in the evenings. Eating 2 meals a day, during an 8 hour window. No snacks out of the 8 hours, only coffee before and after that window. Its okay to not be perfect at this, you need to give yourself grace. Decades of damage will take time to fix. I tell myself this every day, every time I look in the mirror. You can do it, I believe in you! ❤
