The Runebear can solo some bosses, the lion has a broken attack that can deal 10k damage, and the wolf deals poise damage. No wonder the fights only take seconds and some bosses couldn’t even attack. Lol, that was fun.. thanks.

Not really the lion is more like a support due to the frost breath because the red wolf might be a better dps due to the spells and the runebear is able to solo malenia (I think only the consecrated snowfield one tho)

The Bear alway open combat with a charge to pull aggro too, already better than human tank.

12:00 whole dragonlord placiduxas has this take, that battle is a story of runebear trying to take him out after he ended his friends, the whole battle is a spectacle. Hands down the best in this video for those blinded by the plaque impossible to see it. Ended in a tragic story.

I'm just surprised how little they were used in the game overall. They appear only a few times and don't even respawn. These guys weren't even mini bosses unlike the Runebear and Red Wolf. Hopefully we see more of them in the DLC. They are pretty fun to fight.

People think Waterfowl Dance is Malenia's deadliest attack, but forget Scarlet Aeonia is a guaranteed kill if it procs Scarlet Rot. Her Rot deals way more damage than standard rot and anything just melts

The only reason Malenia wins in these fights is because she heals from her attacks. She has low poise, gets staggered constantly, and doesn't really have that much HP. She has 2 phases, a big AOE that deals constant damage, and she heals from her hits. If she didn't heal, she would lose a lot more.

@@UrMom19954 not really, she'd still be a broken piece of crap, the healing was never the issue. (although i do firmly believe that the amount she heals should have been proportionate to the damage dealt) what makes malenia so broken are three things that work together to make her just not fun to fight against. first issue is that like half of her move set has hyper armour so her low poise isn't even a factor for most of the fight. (this would not be an issue by itself, but combined with what comes next this is absolute bullshit) second issue is that, unlike all the other enemies in the game, malenia can not get stance broken when she has hyper armour, which is something you only see in other bosses during animations that are part of their phase transitions, like godrick chopping his arm off. (she can still get staggered out of hyper armour if you manage to proc frost or bleed on her though) third issue and another reason why her low poise isn't a factor, is that malenia can cancel some of her attack animations and even her stagger animation into blocks or dashes to escape. combine this with the fact that malenia can chain one hyper armour animation into another with zero staggerable frames between and you get a fight that feels like she's not playing the same game as you. it's like she's playing street fighter, while you're stuck playing tekken, where she can cancel normals into specials,, command grab out of block and shit like that, while you're stuck having to wait for every move you make to finish before you can do anything else.

@@theguileraven7014Yep, the actual make up of the two teams is not exact but I couldn’t resist making the wolf with a sword in his mouth Alucard. The bear I figured is the only one with no magic attacks, like Belmont.

A bosses vs No Man's Land would be interesting. Bosses stand in a long stretch of Altus / Liurnia but hidden behind cover are Lobsters (the snipers), Redmane Longbows, Stormveil Ballistae, a Bow Golem and at the very end, one (1) Starscourge Radahn in ranged mode. Bosses that aren't Malenia have double health and must get to the end to win.

Ooh and something with knockback not the golems but the runebears since their roars can push back some of the smaller bosses but it will do nothing against fire giant except maybe help break his poise :P

Phase 2 Placidusax is an underrated monster. Once they start moving, most bosses can't keep up.

Imagine yourself as a Beast Tamer and they're your familiars, and you just summon them to wreak havoc and destruction on any boss or player. It would be an over powered ability to have man, like why would you need a party when you already have a tank, a damage-dealer, and mage. It is absolutely op asf.

Jesus christ, I'm not seeing enough people talking about that Radagon fight. That was honestly the best teamwork I've seen from the three of them, all jumping in and out to make room for the next one to take a pot shot. It felt like a tag team lmao

Maybe it's just me but I've never had much trouble with runebears, even the snowfield ones. They have barely any poise for such a big enemy so it's really easy to stancebreak them with a heavy weapon. All you have to do is hang out by their stomachs and attack their legs.
