Welcome to Amber Cove! Today we are in the Dominican Republic. This is Carnival Corporation private island and they spend an estimated $85 million dollars creating this island! Did I mention that Jurassic Park was partially filmed here in 1993? Come along as I give you a tour of the island.

This trip is with Carnival Spirit leaving out of Miami, Florida. We visited Carnival Private Island Princess Cays, Grand Turk and Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic.

The Caribbean does have its charms! Sounds fun and Mardi Gras, enjoy!
Be careful on taking an excursion in the DR. Carnival may say "3" for moderate. That means taking a walking marathon up and down stairs for over three hours. The tour guide took us to the store he wanted us to buy from and by the time we got back to Amber Cove we were dead tired. Be very careful in the DR.

I went to the Dominican Republic in 1997 on a cruise for my honeymoon and the port we went to had guy's with machine gun's at the dock . It was a great place to visit .
