Hi! We're Betty and Lee and we are so glad that you're here.
We're originally from small towns in the southern US. We moved to Germany many years ago and quickly fell in love with the country. As American expats living in Germany, things haven't always been easy, but we embraced our expat life and have grown to love our life in Germany.
The hardest part of living in Germany is being so far away from our children in college and extended family so we retired early and decided to try living part time in Germany and the United States. We'll share our travel experiences along with things that surprise us about living in both places.
We're beyond excited to have you join us on our adventure!
Happy Travels,
Betty and Lee

Btw, that Krapfen/Berliner/Kreppel (hole-less donut) was obviously filled with Eierlikör (egg-liquor) that is the creamy Northern German equivalent of egg-nog.

Yes, of course! Thank you. I wasn’t sure what it was, but I have heard of Eierlikör before. It was very good. Thanks for letting us know.

Cologne Cathedral will never be finished. At Cologne Cathedral, large stone surfaces have to be replaced every year, especially these Gothic decorations, because everything is built of sandstone. It is very rare that you can look at the Cologne Cathedral without a large Construction Pours somewhere. At the moment, the cathedral workshop is working on the north tower, the buttress, the south transept façade and many other places. If you never want to become unemployed, you have to work in a cathedral builder's workshop. However, as a craftsman, you still have to be able to work there as you did in the Middle Ages.

Yes, the Kölner Dom is undergoing constant renovation. The work is never finished I guess. You provide great information in your comments. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!
