I had to get my money's worth

We lived in Lake Tahoe when I was a kid; my aunt used to use her left over coins from grocery shopping to play the slot machine. Many times she won enough money back to pay for the week's groceries! That's not too bad! But my uncle always lost all the time.

@@Ednabug yes this was in 1962, before Kennedy was shot! I was in 2 grade. The slots were in the store right after you walked away from the cashier with your groceries. And they gave out silver dollars!!!! My mom gave me about 15 of the silver dollars, all dated in the 1800s from the slots. I kept them till last Christmas and divided them between my 3 adult children and told them where they were from. Neat gift I think

@@Ednabug It was fun. But I spent about 5 of them as a teenager buying 50 cent cigarettes! Till the store owner talked to my dad when he stopped for gas and told him what I was spending. So I had probably 16 of them to pass on. Kind of fun to hang on to something like that. Hope my kids will too. They are worth about 30 dollars each now. Better than a pack of cigs!!

That was a good run for the Buffalooo Casinos got smart b/c that game was hitting like crazy when if first came out and its very volatile so they have dialed back those programs in the computer on those games but they dialed them back to where they barely pay now. Sad b/c its such a fun game.
