Agreed. It's perfect.
The fact that he can still hear Mike’s voice after the dream is chilling. In a lesser show they would have just stopped all the chaos after he wakes up and just be in silence

@cometface that's a horrible take. You may not like it but the ratings and awards say otherwise.
One thing i adore about this scene is how accurately it portrays how WAKING UP from a dream is like. most movies will have the characters wake up with a gasp and maybe heavy breathing, but nothing else. i love how accurately this shows the pure minute of confusion you have afterwards, down to him trying to check his phone but being too tired to read it.

I also love when he was cleaning the floor. I don't know if it's just me but I tend to put a slow but heavy push if the dirty mark is still on so there's really no persistent rhythm when i clean the floor. And he just did exactly that.
0:18-0:25 The pure pain and despondency in Carm’s eyes combined with that borderline lifeless smile is so utterly heartbreaking and spine chilling at the same time. God, Jeremy Allen White is such a good actor

I love how the show doesn’t lean into the food porn, although there is no shortage of delicious looking food. It’s more about the people and the sacrifices they make, physical/ emotional, to keep the restaurant going.

As someone who struggles with an anxiety disorder, this is a very accurate depiction of what it’s like. Right down to the bad dreams like this. I appreciate how this series shows mental health problems and feels like a PSA for getting treatment.

I’ve never seen the Bear before in my life (though I likely will after watching this scene), but this is one of the best depictions of anxiety I’ve ever seen put to screen. Forgetting where you are, trapped in a prison of your own insecurities and worst memories. Every simple mistake escalated into a world-ending catastrophe, while the people you’re trying to prove yourself to mock you while you spiral and it all becomes so terrible and overwhelming that you scream “STOP! I CANT DO THIS!” but no one can hear you screaming. The “I’m trying guys, please stop laughing at me” especially hit home for me. Just purely masterful acting by Jermey Allen White. He certainly earned that Golden Globe ❤

Reminded me of the monkey scene from Jordan Peele's Nope. The set looks similar too.
Really creative way to fill in all the gaps. A typical cable show would have Carmy tell the story in episode 1. Instead we're left wondering most of the show that by the time we reach it we are dying to know, and we get it in a fake cutesy cooking show, where chefs are infamous for telling stories about why they love the recipes

Little small detail that i love is that the only time he hear his head chef's voice is when he compliment himself. After all the experience, all his achivement, all his awards, the head chef words still lingers at the back of his head. Just like any creative in this world that voice will forever haunt you , i guess thats probably the reason why Carmy is not as mean or as explosive as a the headchefs that he work with except episode 7
Jeremy Allen White's eyes are so intoxicatingly blue. It's like putting me in a trance
Bro, Jeremy Allen White is genuinely one of the most amazing actors I’ve ever seen. This scene is perfect.
Speaking as a British fan of the series. The Bear is the perfect example of Well written, filmed and performed American tv drama.
At 1:45, if you’re observant enough, you can see the bear just chilling there Welsh. Carmy breaks down
This is my favorite beginning scene to a season finale episode everrrrr
Man, whenever there was a close up, he looked so much like Gene Wilder, I just wanted him to say "good day, sir!" LOL. Ever since some folks brought that comparison, I can't not see it now.

I'd love to watch a cooking show with Carmy in it lol. Maybe the creators of the Bear can do a funny special like it lol.
Really like how surreal this gets, with Carmy’s ingredients and equipment disappearing, as he dreams up a grizzly bear on set whilst in a sitcom backdrop while having flashbacks of Michael along the way. What Carmy is going through is a Welsh slang called “hiraeth”, which means “longing for a home or person that had been lost, and no longer exists”, as he claimed later in the episode, that running the Beef was like trying to fix what was wrong with Michael the whole time.
I’ve had nightmares like this before. One moment you’re in a familiar setting and in control, and the next you’re absolutely convinced you’re literally in hell, even though you don’t think you deserve it.
Thx. This was a nice carpet cleaning break for me..

Mr. Robot was the first thing that came to mind when I saw this sequence. Reminds me of the sitcom episode from season 2. The Bear's color grading also resembles the look of Mr. Robot's fourth season.
Anxiety is terrible. I have lost work over having panic attacks. We would all benefit from learning more about how to manage mental health and help people who are suffering. 30% of Americans are on psych meds. Then add in the people on street drugs and booze. More people are out here suffering than we care to admit or realize.
