I was indeed lucky to see Kitto perform in Mocambo. I really donot know if anyone could play such guitar in the subcontinent (Rest in Peace Sir). The restaurants in Park Street from the 50s to the 70s were the Mecca of English music in India producing the greatest and the finest jazz and rock musicians and singers of the country. Kolkata (then Calcutta) was the capital of Jazz and Rock 'n Roll in India as Shillong is today.

Hello sir... My father always told stories of trincas, blue fox and others. I went to trincas few days ago and was surprised to see a Hindi/bangla band playing. My sentiments were hurt. I actually asked the manager while i apologized that what is a Hindi bangla band doing here? He pointed Out that the English band starts from 8:30 pm. I waited until they came then herd some swing music and felt a relief. I have nothing against Hindi or bangla in fact I love it but when I think of trincas i only imagine English classics or jazz. The band was kind enough to take my request and played careless whispers.

THIS TYPE OF TRADITIONAL JAZZ HAS HARDLY ANY AUDIENCE NOW A DAYS... JAZZ HAS EVOLVED AND EVOLVED FOR BETTER....
