I'm all for the support for Nepo and how he handled the loss in his first WCC, but I haven't seen anyone comment on how respectful Magnus has been towards his opponent's performance. He seemed to choose the right words in the press conference that showed either admiration or deference to his worthy opponent. I would just like to point that out---after being world champ for the last 8 years, and as sarcastic and comical he can be, I haven't heard him say anything dismissive about Nepo personally. I think that deserves a mention. Am I wrong?

Just stop, for the love of god. Looks like the cowardly moderator is deleting posts, but Nepo trying to throw Game 11 (and Carlsen recoiling in such shock that he blundered in return) to get the match over with is still the most revolting incident in chess in decades, short of outright cheating. Game 11 was so obvious it sheds new light on Nepomniachtchi's 'blunders' in Games 8 and 9.

This was a battle of titans. Nepo, a titan of steel, tried everything, reinvented his game several times, and pressed Magnus to the limit of them both in spectacular Game VI; the problem is, Carlsen is diamond, not steel. Nepo broke and melted. I just hope the blunderfest that follows shan't outshine the beauty of Game VI in the sport's history.

Once a Nepo fan always a Nepo Fan. I wish Nepo took Anand and Kramnik in his training camp for the WC... He will be a beast. Because these players have that sight of the World Champion pressure and how to handle it. He is performing in the Candidates like fire 🔥. Magnus just has a bunch of People who bring computer lines for him to memorize cause of his memory and that's it.

Lol that's so wrong. In fact Carlsen is not even the best prepared player out there. Look at this wc itself, more often than not it was Ian who was better out of opening, and that's really where the prep works. In fact the best prepared player would be Fabiano Or Anish. They do insane computer preps. Carlsen mostly relies on his positional intuition to sail him through the slightly worse middlegame, and then his god tier endgame skills to win wherever possible. Kasparov even criticized Carlsen for this, saying that Ian was out prepping Carlsen almost every game. Of course it didn't matter anyway because of the tilt after game 6.

Winning by squeezing every single drop out of the endgame in a 136 move long game is about as far from computer prep as it's possible to get.

He played for 8 hours, until 12:30 AM local time, and lost. After 5 draws. I can see how it would shatter a person in his position.

He got desperate 4 a win after game 6 and made blunders due to that in initial games the games were super accurate and from game 6 opposite happened
