Meddy beautifully humbled the media that was drooling over Alcaraz vs Djokovic too early. Medvedev's ability to learn and play intelligently should not be underestimated especially at the us open.

Thank you, US Open, for uploading these full matches and showing your appreciation for tennis fans around the world! Roland Garros and AO should take note, not to mention the elitist, upsell-peddling, exclusivity obsessed gated community from the UK that calls itself a tennis tournament.

He's just not the typical body build of any tennis player. Medvedev has no massive chest, shoulders, upper arm, no monstrous thighs and calves. How does Daniil mangage to develop so much power from the body of a computer nerd? I think it's because he's so tall that he has to remain thin. You know, every 10% extra height means an extra 30% body weight otherwise. Which is why there are no 12 feet tall, perfectly athletic humans around beating us out of the gene pool.

The big guy barely put a foot wrong throughout the entire match. Game 9 in the 4th set told you all you need to know about Medvedev. Brilliant player and already a legend. His unorthodox style adds to his appeal somewhat, but, it's his natural talent that eclipses all else and shines through brightly. The men's tennis world would be significantly less appealing & intetesting without Meddy, so I hope he can stay at the top for at least the next 5 years. All the best for the future, Daniil!

Medvedev has great timing and hits the ball flat, so the hard surface of US Open suited him better than Wimbledon's grass. He played great tactically, and even though somewhat vulnerable to the drop shot and lob, his superb ground hitting was enough to keep Carlos from gaining sufficient momentum to dominate. Smart play and excellent execution from Medvedev. Carlos is certainly the outstanding player at present, but it's great to see he will have some hot competition in future. Before New York, Mendy had nothing to give him hope of success against Carlitos. Medvedev was a client of Alcaraz because his style suited the Spaniard. But Mendy has found a path that could lead him to victory over Carlitos. And this path lies in the Spaniard’s serve trajectories. With his move, Mendy denied Carlitos the opportunity to respond with a forehand arm attack or a drop-shot.

2:25:30 The umpire's comment here symbolizes this match. But Medvedev remained calm. I feel like Carlos has shrunk and is no longer able to play as usual.😮

It’s insane to think but we really forget Alcaraz is only 20. Still a lot of learning and maturing to do yet. It would be insane if he did make the finals and win his 3rd slam all within 1 year. That’s a feat none of the Big 3 ever came close to at his age. I’m glad he’s pulled out of the David Cup and taking time off. First time since Wimbledon he’ll go a couple weeks without Tennis. He’ll probably win a Masters or 2 before the years out then a deep run at the Finals. Next year he’ll be a menace again🤣 AO, RG, Wimbledon and USO 🥶

As Djokovic said recently, "everybody wants my scalp", when Djokovic leaves the hunt will be on Carlos as the only super talent left. Let's see how he can handle the pressure, he didn't do well in this match. Players in the top 10 should be better able to compete with supertalents and sometimes beat them, like Medvedev did. So far Carlos mostly only loses random matches against non-savvy players like Marojean, Tommy Paul. Hopefully next season players like Medvedev, Rune, Zverev, Sinner, Tsitsipas will beat him more often.
