Carl Palmer's ELP Legacy Tour - Welcome Back My Friends
Музыка
Carl Palmer's ELP Legacy Tour lets it rip with one of ELP's most famous songs--Karn Evil #9, better known by its lyric "Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends..."
0:11 We could have done this in my living room, actually

Recorded with a split from the FOH board, Chief Engineer Ian Schreier has translated the live tracks into an amazing live mix.
We are grateful to Carl Palmer and his team for coming to the Miraverse, delivering such an inspiring performance of such legendary music, and for giving us permission to post this video of that performance.

Carl is my all time favorite drummer. Has been nearly all my 62 years. GO CARL!!!!
ELP made music that stands the test of time. Glad to see Carl still enjoys the road. RIP Keith and Greg! Godspeed Carl!
Neil Peart (RIP) said that this man is one of the two most influential drummers of his life. Wow.

Carl Palmer is deserving of all the praise and honors that the world can give to a great musician. This video is fantastic.
Carl Palmer is an phenominal drummer. No one is like him and he's one of the best in the biz.
Carl is truly one of the all-time great percussionists and an indispensable part of one of the most influential and popular prog/rock bands to grace the world with their music, ELP. In his early 70s, Carl still possesses the chops to play at the very highest level. Keep on chugging, Mr. Palmer!
AWESOME! Carl was one the top drummers in my book since 1973! Saw them live in '78 unbelievable band and music! I miss Keith and Greg, Rest in Peace.
Carl is as good as drumming gets. Stays in good shape, still has passion and power. I respect him too as a person
one of the best drummers ever !!!! Amazing !!!
One of the greatest drummers to have ever hit a skin. Incredible player and with a rare and specialtalent that puts most of the rest in the shade. I have listened to him for 50 years and never tire....
Beautiful tribute to one of the most amazing and innovative bands in history! Well done gentlemen!
Glad Carl put together a band to continue the Legacy of ELP..Have been a fan of theirs for 50 since I first saw them at the Mar y Sol Rock Fest in Puerto Rico. R.I.P, Keith and Gregg.
much respect... Carl and ELP 's music have been a part of my life for about 40 years!

Same here. For me it started when I first heard the King Crimson album "In the Court of the Crimson King", playing in a record store on Kenmore St. in Boston in 1971 when I was 16. Loved Greg Lake's vocals in that album and it naturally led me straight to ELP....

The one, the only... Carl Freaking Palmer!! Yaaaasssh!
Sounds excellent..great job Long live ELP
One of the best and most respected and revered drummers EVER! He was indeed a 'drumming god' back in his time...
Sounding as tight as ever. Excellent!!!
with all due respect to Carl, the band here and ELP at large... just can't wrap my head around this sound.
How awesome! Palmer is one of the greatest drummers of all time!
Wow , a blast from the past. I seen ELP a couple of times in the 70`s at Madison Square Garden NYC. Incredible shows , Carl`s playing is still visually embedded in my mind. The young man style of playing guitar reminds me of Steve Howe. Great job by the band.
Fantastic!Saw Carl in Ontario! LOVED ELP!Met the 2 young fellas to nice folks! And they play very well!
rock on carl, this elp stuff never gets old,,
GO CARL GO! I can't wait to see you perform with both ASIA and your trio this year!
Saw him with Asia some years ago, incredible dexterity and power and top showman!
I saw Carl's Legacy open for Yes a few days ago. Carl's band was outstanding! Powerful and very talented. Even without vocals. I loved it!!

Hey people! 2021 here! This is fantastic!!!
Awesome... He still playing like what he is a Master of Drumming...
Been with ELP from day one. Fantastic Carl and guys. Bravo. Keith and Greg would appreciate. Very classy.
Carl Palmer ELP gig where he was aged 16 or 17 simply amazing. I now have on DVD and still think it is amazing.
Still kicking it after all these years! Inspiring me to go work on my chops after this performance. Way to go Carl!
Fkn Awesome.. Carl truly found a couple of Great Musicians to compliment his AWESOMENESS...
Amazing! Thanks Carl and guys.

Just saw him in March 2018 and he is STILL fantastic! Plays with energy and passion of a man half his age & he had just turned 68 the week before!!! I was just 5 feet in front of him and he is so incredible!
With all due respect to all, Carl's drums simply soar over the other instruments, of course... a nice moment to get in touch with ELP's music, in an elegant, unpretensious tribute... he is clever not to feature any vocalist or keyboardist here, since it would surely be useless, and very badly received. Saw this show very recently here in São Paulo and it was quite nice, given the proportions. A very nice opportunity to say 'goodbye'' to the show that never ends, and to watch and listen to Carl's incredible, untouched virtuosism. And of course it is for all of us, hardcore ELP fans...an elegant tribute, not to be compared to ELP

"he is clever not to feature any vocalist or keyboardist here, since it would surely be useless, and very badly received." - Agree, except that it wouldn't be 'badly received', just received differently. It just couldn't measure up to the original... folks that have listened to the original for the past few decades would be thinking "Oh, cool... wait, that's not right!"

holy quocomole...totally awesome! New flavor on classic ELP tune with rock solid Palmer-ness. Life is good!!
What a powerhouse of a drummer. His dexterity and speed always impressed me.
Add Rachel Flowers on keys then the sound will get filled out - as it is this was pretty energetic.

Thank you Carl for keeping the music alive and giving these two young guys a chance to shine. You were one of my biggest influences and also my son's.
Simply amazing an unique. Thanks Carl !!!!!!!!
Thanks Keith for continuing ELP, RIP Keith Emerson & Greg Lake
excellent CARL PALMER, the only one left of the band excellent I remembered my ELP years

Wow!!!! Thank You!!¡
CP is a beast. Great control and he is spot on. Many forget that it was Louie Bellson who started the double bass kit craze back in the 60’s and my father grew up with that. I grew up with CP and Peart, however, and ELP was a heavy influence on me - and it was my brother playing the kit and me on guitar. To see CP playing is just pure magic but to see any of these guys play in person is a one in a lifetime blessing. Thanks for the post!
This is one of the greatest drummers ever drumming along to what sounds like a computer backing track. Still Love you Carl.
Beautiful to see Carl give the youth of today an opportunity. Now all he has to do is keep up! Good for everyone no doubt.
That bass sound is awesome. Great video.
Deserved a standing ovation, brilliant drumming, great band.
If you grew up in the 70s with this album you are a blessed person.
Wonderful!!!
Saw them last month. Superb musicianship. Very small but very appreciative crowd. Toward the end, there was a video montage of ELP news clippings that accompanied a ferocious "Nutrocker." Can't deny that there were a few chills when one realized just how massive they were in the day. My teenage son was awestruck.
I saw these three at in Portland Or. about a year ago. Carl has NOT lost a step he was blazing from start t finish!! And these two young guy he had with him were amazing!!
Are you kidding me?? This is phenomenal! It’s Carl staying youthful and playing with some crazy good talent! I love the interpretation.
This sounds so fabulous. (shows how amazingly polyvalent guitars are) ♡♡♡♡♡
The Great Carl Palmer, Never truly got the full recognition that he rightfully deserved among the elite drummers from yesteryear! Always below the radar throughout the height & hayday of Rock & progressive Rock, Make no mistake he's One of the very Best! Always playing overtime everytime just to stay in rhythm with Keith Emerson
Wow what a legendary drummer, can't believe it. Magnificent and still got it.
Carl is a drum legend amongst drum legends. Well done guys!
Just awesome!!!
That was an Amazing rendition! Took me back to the 70s.
enjoyed this ,, great tune, well done
Ridiculously good drumming, outstanding!
Brilliant interview.
just an amazing performance - true jazz-rock
Fantastic!!
I recently saw them perform at the Palace Theater in Greensburg, PA as the opening for YEStival. Carl and his friends were incredibly high energy and he seemed to be truly enjoying what he was doing--a comment I'm afraid I cannot make for the others sharing his bill.
To me and so many, many others, Carl Palmer is without doubt, the greatest drummer in history. He was the perfect addition to those two other phenominal musicians: Keith Emerson and. Greg Lake. (Ps: These two "kids" that your working with now are both pretty damned formitable as well!!) Great job Carl. You legacy will last for centuries.
I had the pleasure of meeting Carl a couple years back at one of his art shows. Fifteen or so people in a small room with his creations on display for three hours. Talk about stories. He's a genuinely nice guy with a good sense of humor. I enjoyed the time very much, and oh yeah, I have the piece named "Knife Edge" hanging on my living room wall. Thanks Carl. Hi Bruce -(Carl's Manager).
Seen E L P in Grand Rapids, Michigan back in the 1990's. What a great show it was!!. Good to see Carl Palmer still beating the hell out of thoes drums!!.
Carl´s speed is just a detail...the point is the accuracy and the performance...it deserves a thousand "woooow"
I fully respect... and enjoy your music Carl.
Clever arrangements. Very Rock and Roll. Whoo!
Carl's a freeeeking BADASS !!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Loved you since the 70s !!!! 💫
