Carl Fogarty in conversation with Steve Parrish - January 2020

Ғылым және технология

Not only is Carl Fogarty a demon on the track but he is also a King of the Jungle!
Foggy is a household name thanks to winning the 2014 - I'm a Celebrity, Get me Out of Here TV show.
However his racing career on the track is also extraordinary. He is one of the most successful Superbike racers of all time chalking up 59 victories and 4 World Superbike Championships.
Carl came to Brooklands for a chat with Steve in January 2020. What an evening!

Foggy is probably one of the most overlooked all time greats in sport I mean he won 8 world titles in 3 different categories 4 WSBK titles, 3 Formula TT titles and 1 endurance world title plus 3 TT wins And look at the guys he raced against in his time the Dunlop’s, Hislop, Slight, Corser, Kosinski, Edwards, Rymer even James Whitmam sometimes on the British short circuits He was king of the jungle in 2014 too Honestly Foggy has had one hell of a career

I’m afraid I’d have to agree with the comments on sound. It did detract from a great conversation. I’m sure I missed a lot of really funny comments. But please don’t stop trying! Love the passion and humour that is so obviously present.

Same poor audio quality that they had while interviewing Agostini, same venue. I couldn't really hear what they were saying, so gave up after five minutes or so, same with the Ago interview.

Foggy showing you how he can’t get his shoulder and arm down in a crouched position tells you he had no chance of racing again after the crash in Phillip Island but he’d probably have retired at the end of 2000 anyway, he would probably have won the title again in 2000, the bike was good and he’d shown at Kylami and Phillip Island that he was still the quickest but as he’s said a few times he was getting to the stage where he was ready to call it a day, regardless of the accident, he was 35 with several previous injuries and he wanted to go out at the top before the younger riders started to beat him

I think Parrish is great (just read his autobio) but he often looks so disinterested in these interviews.......looking at and picking his nails, eyes wandering around the room or looking up at the ceiling etc. I find it very disrespectful to the guest he's interviewing and supposed to be listening to.

Hes uncomfortable in his own skin..self absorbed & disingenuous. My guess he wants to be more fully steering the conversational-slide. the clear giveaway is the constant shifting in his seat & the chin pawing etc
