Thanks so much for taking the time to post these wonderful films, Joe, they brought back many happy memories. I remember as a lad of seven, being a stowaway on Harrison Line's Custodian from Liverpool to Salford. My late father was a member of the deck crew, and he took me onboard MV Custodian, to pay off in Manchester, I was told to stay in his cab.in and remain very quiet. You can imagine how thrilled I was to be part of this adventure ! I never went to sea due to ill health as a young man, but spent the whole of my working life in the Shipbroking and Freight forwarding business. From the day I made my illicit voyage,I knew I wanted to be around ships. It was a very rewarding career, which took me to the Far East and many other interesting places. Very best wishes and thanks again for posting.

As a NZPO shore based coast radio station radio operator, 1964-1991, I worked a lot of these ships on HF CW. Including Canberra, Orcades, Oronsay, Ruahine, Tijilwah, Papanui, etc. to mention a few. I definitely remember Patonga as an infrequent caller. Thanks for the memories of ships since gone to razor blades, long ago. Later you mention the scene with Himalaya and Chitral, both are also on my list of contacts.

Regarding the Wallenius bulker MEDIA. You mentioned it had gone to Greek owners and then finally to Gibraltar, with the addition of one letter to it's name before being scrapped in China. This re-flagging and simple renaming was common for scrap voyages when the breakers had already purchased the ship. I sailed on the delivery of ST Berge Borg from Norway to Taiwan, reflagged to Gibraltar and renamed simply by painting out 'Berge'.

I Just love films like this brilliant. Disappointed that there were no PSNC ships transiting Panama or in Willemstad Curacao (Pronounced "Cure a sow")
