Since starting this journey of scuba diving less than a year ago, I have truly fallen in love with it. My brain is scuba 24/7 even with the career I have now. I am currently a Fire Captain with the Fire Department and have around 6 years left before retirement. Scuba instruction is going to be my next career after the fire service and it is my number one goal right now. Dive, dive, dive, learn, learn, learn and get to that next level.

I just happen to fall onto your videos and found them very interesting and informative. I, myself is finally in a stable position to further my diving career and endeavors. I OW in 1989 and did a about 20 dives over the next few years. After that I took an almost 20 yr sabbatical to raise a family and work. Jumping to the present. All the kids are on their own and I'm able to throughly embrace the diving world. I have completed my DM certification and I'm a Scientific Diver as well. I currently live and dive in the warm waters of Alaska. Haha. Ice diving has been a new realm I'm loving and exploring. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would enjoy helping and teaching others the wonderful world of diving. The amazement and excitement I see in them is what drives me want to help them more. I definitely want to embrace the DM position for some time, but can't wait to move onto becoming a Dive Instructor. I truly believe this book would be a valuable asset to my knowledge collection and a vital tool in my diving arsenal.

Wow didn’t know you still held onto your day job on top of doing this, huge respect! Really timely that I came across your point on mid career transition-ers who may want to do it full time as the whispers in my head are growing louder and I do think the point on offering social media and digital skills does apply to me. Lots of food for thought!

Yeah for now KZread and instructing are both part time but I’m hoping to swap to full time scuba industry (KZread helping supplement potentially!) within the next 5-7 years. Working the plan! Haha

@yonasngaturi8805 that’s not a bad idea! It’s a lot, I won’t lie. Like truly it’s a lot of fricken work haha. I’m planning a 10k subscriber video for when we hit that milestone (it’s so close it’s absolutely insane!), and one ask I’ll have in there is to submit Q&A for a special AMA type video, I’ll keep this one in mind!

Glad you enjoyed! My day job is a team lead for a DevOps team (software industry)

👍😎🤿🇵🇭! Maybe in the near future relocate to the Philippines to continue in scuba diving and still advancing in scuba skills but my photography is terrible and marketing and social media skills are lacking everything! I do have some very advanced skills such as able to troubleshoot and rebuild scuba first stages and second stages all the way to pure oxygen. But let’s say the dive boat has a diesel engine problem or transmission problem well no problem as my skill set is well prepared for that.

Those are GREAT skills for a dive pro!!! You’ll be very employable like that in my opinion
