I applied to a couple of Carman positions and still waiting to hear back after a few months. Meanwhile, I applied for a conductor trainee position out of the blue and was contacted almost immediately for that one. I'm guessing the carman position is more desirable due to the somewhat more set hours. Whereas the conductor position is no life, all play.

One thing about RR life Mr Garcia is willingness to relocate comes with the territory many times. That is what has kept me from applying myself here in CA.

Get on with a contractor, bust your ass and do more work in a day than a union carman will do in a week, do it for about a year or two and use that knowledge to apply

Why not apply for TTX they train you for a month out of state they pay 100% of expenses. Then work for them a couple years then apply for BNSF after.

No carmen job right now also would consider doing train crew but it say 109.55 entry level per day but that's only 13.75 a hour for 8 hours of work? So what's the 100 % of the pay total after training?
