I also shed a tear during his weather forecast last night. Micah could barely hold back her emotions. I don't blame her tbh.

Oh Tom, I have to say that I think the word 'iconic' has been overused as of late but you and your career certainly have been renowned. Your expertise has clearly come from the passion for your work and the Chicago area and dedication to your viewers who have trusted your forecasts and insights for decades. Most when retiring from a lengthy career receive thanks for their years of service. Well, your viewers thank you for that but also, if not more importantly, being the genuine and caring person we all wish we personally knew. Thank you for sharing your artfully executed meteorological skills and personality with us all over the past forty-five years in a way only 'Tom Freaking Skilling' could have! We all predict very pleasant years ahead for you!

Thanks to Pro. Ken Dewey for getting me an autograph picture of you. When he visited you many years ago. You also took him on a tour of WGN studio. I watch WGN back when you were on the cable network here in Lincoln Ne. I watched your forecast every day at noon up until the cable system here drop WGN. Enjoy your retirement. I am sure you will be missed in the Chicago area. Keep looking up..
