    The moral of the story: The common sense bottom line is to be nice to your spouse. Is that such a unreasonable thing to do for the people we love?

    Dr Laura is very wise. If you want a better marriage, read “Proper Care and Feeding of Husband”. All of you with negative comments about her, please realize that she never said she was perfect nor that she has a perfect life. Some people in our life can be complicated. We do the best we can.

    All the women who made negative comments here r or will be in a miserble marriage/relationship making their partner miserable but continue on because they r too proud to take schlessinger's advice. I guess it's hard to admit that years and years of feminism has done them more harm than good...

    she has openly stated that she has made huge mistakes in her past (like we all do) is it wrong to try to help people out when you yourself have "seen the light" or realized the way you lived your life wasn't right. I commend her for her boldness and wanting to speak truth instead of all the bullcrap lies so many women are buying into from Cosmo which teaches its ok to have affairs ITS FUN!! She is a self proclaimed recovered feminist and thanks to her so am I! ;) Dr. Laura is fabulous!

    In a marriage (between two normal healthy people) the woman has way more influence on the husband's emotional state than the reverse. She can change his mood in an instant in either direction. It takes way, way more effort for a husband to change his wife's mood, at least in a positive direction. It is as simple as that. Anyone who is married can recognize this psychological reality. If a man has a crappy day but comes home to a happy and excited wife, his mood improves instantly. But if a wife in the midst of a rotten day comes home to a happy and excited husband, his happiness and excitement not only doesn't cheer her up, it actually irritates her. He must share her misery.

    I agree. And I say that as a woman who was married to a man who was *not* healthy. Nothing I did ever worked, but I recognize that it was due to his mental illness.

    Dr. Laura radiates good old-fashioned common sense. And those of you who have to resort to name calling and calling out her past must severely lack it and it speaks VOLUMES about YOUR character.

    This is crap. Not all people (or men) are sexually and emotionally responsive. People are stressed out and as much as I love sex, not everyone can perform. I enjoy love and just because you committed 18 years to another person, doesn't mean you should keep it alive. humans change, chemistry changes.

    Wow, Erin, Erin Michelle! You sound so incredibly defeated! Oh my goodness you sound like you are so miserable not just with a husband you might be tired of, but just with living! I hope that's not really the case, but the synicism in you cybervoice here is depressing. Marriage is work, not merely whimsy.

    Erin Michelle another person? Who ru calling another person? Call your friends another person. Not your significant other, he’s one with u. And doesn’t mean you have to keep going? What a relationship for you is disposable like changing your socks? U should’ve been upfront with him that you only wanna be in this relationship to be temporary when u met, then he wouldn’t wanna be w you. What do you think happened when people changed, chemistry changed 100 yrs ago, 1000 yrs ago the whole history ppl just left their marriages or relationships?

    She is intelligent and has some points, but what irritates me is that she is so narrow-minded concerning gender-roles. We are all individuals more than we are male or female, and forcing people into stereotypes diminishes thier freedom to be who they are. Plus: She claims men should respect women. Right, but I don`t get how this goes together with being anti-feminist. Without the things feminism achieved in history she would not sit in that chair.

  • @garrettstephens91

    @garrettstephens91

    I understand what you are saying, but to be fair and honest, when you get married to someone your individuality is stripped from you whether or not you are a male or female, and the only goal is to make one another happy. Individuality outside of marriage is beautiful and should not be taken away, but in marriage, you and your partner are joined as one, and "slaves" to each other only, not yourself. Feminism in the 1870's, 1910's,1920's, and 1960's was truly wonderful and granted women many freedoms that they still enjoy today, modern feminism is much different and in my opinion is a joke, because nowadays, a woman now can do anything she puts her mind to, the problem is, women listen to what society tells them that they can/cannot do; if they stopped listening to those negative things, then all these problems would be fixed.

  • @Singer_music7

    @Singer_music7

    You don't have to be feminist to ask for respect. Respect is letting women speak and hear their opinions. No need to burn bras as long as we are getting the respect that we deserve. Men are not as emotional as women which is why its best for women to stay home with the kids because that is just how we were made in our nature. We are nurturers. Why some women don't want to embrace that is sad and un natural. I say be proud of being sensitive, soft and nurturing and embrace raising our precious babies and love them like no one else can! Being a homemaker is one of the hardest jobs ever! Nothing to be looked down upon.

  • @NuntiusLegis

    @NuntiusLegis

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@Singer_music7 Being emotional can be put on other uses than raising kids. Women being more emotional than men is a stereotype which doesn't apply to all individuals, so it shouldn't be used to limit their freedom. Still glorifying reproduction with 8 billion humans on the poor planet already means glorifying disaster.
