Hello. That is how I paired my setup but when PACKTALK is connected to tft the volume is so low I can’t hear it when riding. Speakers have great placement in my helmet. Any way to increase the volume when connected to tft? Setting packtalk to max volume isn’t enough. When I just have packtalk paired to my phone not connected to the bike the volume is fine. How do you work intercom connections? I set mine up exactly the way you show, but the Cardo app no longer sees my Packtalk Bold, making it impossible to go further into the cardo app to join an intercom group.

Is there a way of using voice commands to control google when pairing this way?

If I connect my cardo to my futur BMW TFT, do you lose any functionally compare to the BMW Helmet System ?

Ok Connecting Packtalk to TFT is easy, but I see that also have a Garmin Zumo. I can also connect my Packtalk to my Garmin XT, using the Packtalk GPS channel, but as soon as I do, the connection to the TFT drops off. I have also tried the other way. TFT connecting to GPS channel first and then try to connect to Garmin on the Mobile Phone 1 channel. Just drops the connection and can't put the Packtalk into discovery mode once a connection has been established.

HI like your vid. Perhaps you can help me. I have a Packtalk Slim and I am trying to pair it to my K1600 TFT but it doesn't seem to work. I already have a Garmin Zumo paired in position 2 on the Packtalk and wonder if that is stopping me from connecting the BMW TFT in position 1. Any assistance greatly appreciated.

After pairing my Iphone with TFT , and this i can do it perfectly, but now my question is : I have a Cardo Packtalk edge and in pair mode whitch option i choose, Phone 1 or Motobike to pair with TFT ? other stuff i cannot understand is, why when i have my phone paired with TFT and with Cardo , some notification i dont ear in cardo , any tip ? thank you so much

What I talk to Cardo that never works , phone to lid also connected , and my nav6 has nothing connected , I don’t really use that , and ideas ?

Is communicating with other riders work when connected to the bike? I have the freecom 2 and the only way it would work properly was to not have the tft connection to the phone or cardo. I would like to use the conected app snd be able to speak with my other rider without it dropping out. If it works OK then I will upgrade to Bold. Thanks

The Freecom system only has BT capabilities which is no probably why you experience the “dropping off”. The Bold has a separate channel for BT connections and mesh for your riding buddies. But keep in mind all your riding buddies will need to have either a packtalk or newer system to take advantage of the mesh technology

I am using iPhone 11, 2021 BMW R1250GSTFT with Nav VI and Packtalk Bold on one helmet and Packtalk Slim on another.. Have connected exactly as you describe and my music cuts out. Purchased a Samsung Galaxy S8 Android from Straighttalk and am still having the same issue. Works as advertised until I get on the bike and ride. My TFT was updated in June to latest Software . Any recommendations?

Sorry for the delay! Are you running the units in “DMC” mode or “BT”? If you have Instagram message me on their as sometimes these messages get detailed on notifications.

So when my friend comes with another motorbike how can I connect wirh him by using cardo app via bluetooth? ( he wasnt using cardo)

Great video. Set mine up easy from watching this. When I was out with a group of lads and joined their talk group I then lost my connection with the TFT …… have you found a way around this ?

I found I have to remove my connections to pair with a group. I have not figured out how to pair with my pillion so we can talk and connect through the tft.

Can you explain the connection of passenger helmet ? I have some problems on that

When I do that my calls connect but can't understand cuz it cuts out.

Cardo vs SENA? I don’t have any fancy TFT on my Dakar, but I’ve been happy with the SENA Products for the past five years or so - connects to my iPhone, my SENA camera, and back in the day my Garman Zumo… But I don’t even use that anymore…

Cardo has never failed me due to weather or sound quality. My Sena has. If you are using your Sena Camera it’s pretty hard to beat that setup. When I try to blog it’s a mess with the gopro and all the wires hanging off it.

How is the BMW connection to the Cardo? The Triumph Connect option is pretty terrible (lots of drop outs and everything).

With the latest firmware updates on both the TFT and Cardo it’s been great. I don’t have any personal experience testing the Triumph TFT for pairing but from what I can tell is the Triumph TFT is 1 year behind for updates.

Same problem with my aprilia connection, I write to cardo about this problem. Because cheap china intercomm works pretty well

Any idea why the microphone isn’t working? I can’t use Cardo voice or talk to people when they call. I can answer and hear them, but they can’t hear me… thanks for the video

Hmm, I’m sure you’ve done this but double check your connections. The wire that runs from the unit cradle to the microphone. Try switching out the book mic with the other one or vice versa. If that still fails disconnect everything from the bmw, and paid it directly to the phone and see if it works that way. Then let me know

If the hardware is working correctly, check the audio output (on iphone) test bothe the bike and the cardo directly. One of them usualy works. When answering a call sometimes they fight each other for the connection. Also make sure you have the phone on the cardo phone 1 and the bike on the phone 2/gps slot

I been trying to pair my packtalk edge to my new s1000rr but have been having issues. I like listening to spotify/youtube podcast and narrated stories while I ride, but soon as I turn my bike on and it pairs with my phone my cardo cuts off the audio. I don't know if pairing my cardo with my bike will help with it, but it should considering it only happens once i start the bike and it pairs with my phone.

@@robertchason7296 yeah you need to make the cardo's primary pairing to the bike and not your phone. You can reset your cardo or delete your phone pairing to it. Pair they phone to the bike, then pair the cardo to the bike under the "pair helmet" option and it will work.

How about the phone and packtalk? This method is for wheel control only. But for users like me that would like to talk to siri. This is not the best option

Hey, that’s actually very straight forward. 1: Cardo to phone pairing mode. 2: look for Cardo on iPhone BT device. Select and done. My new bike doesn’t have the wheel so I use Siri and it’s great.

Hey! I got my 2022 s1000rr last week and I am using packtalk. The headset itself sounds amazing but when I connect both headset and phone to the motorcycle, the audio and mic just sound horrible. Too much static and noise. I contacted bmw and they said nothing wrong with the software. Have you had any issues?

Yup. I have the same problem with my F900r and my packtalk black. If i pair the phone directly to cardo sound is amazing, but i loose the handlebar controls, and the bmw connect app stops syncing If i pair through bmw the sound is crappy and laggy, and I loose siri voice commands. I found a work-around, its not great but it works. I pair the cardo phone 1 to the phone and phone 2 to the bike. Then I pair the phone to the bike. And every time I start the bike I choose the cardo as the iPhone audio output. This way I have the bmw controls and sound is great and siri voice commands work. Only down side is when people call sometimes the cardo and the bike start fighting the output… I’m buying the new edge to test if the poor audio is a bike problem or a packtalk problem If anyone has a better way please let me know.

Yes... I've been experiencing that exact issue since two years now... And all the time, not just sometimes... See my (long) answer under the comment above for all details... All I can say is: There doesn't seem to be any good answer / solution to this. Or let's put it that way: I couldn't find any. But, at least we don't seem to be alone...

Having issues with calls and music as well with NEO

Hi, I have a question. I have Palk Talk slim I connect it to the TFT but the music cuts off, sounds bad, if someone calls me and I peak up, I hear them very bad, and they don't hear me, it is like I am in cave.

This could be several things. For starters make sure every is updated. The easiest way to trouble shoot this is if after updating and problem still exist delete all pairings. Do a direct pair from phone to Cardo and see if same problem occurs. If it does the Cardo itself is failing. If it doesn’t than it’s a issue with the Cardo to TFT. Report back and let me know….

@@2wheelAdv I've bought the last gen of the 1250 GS (Adventure, which should'nt make any difference) in 2022 and as well a cardo packtalk slim for my helmet. Paired everything exactly as described in your video (well, it's no rocket science, obviously) and it worked for a week or so - I used an iPhone 11 at that time. Nothing has been changed and from one ride to the next, the connection from the phone, via the bike to the cardo got bad... Callers not hearing me at all, me hearing callers, music or spoken navigational stuff in staccato with cuts every half second or so... Deleted every pairing, updated the cardo app, the BMW app, the cardo firmware, began from scratch... Worked for one ride, after that: Same problem as before. Talked to BMW... No clue. Researched online, checked back with cardo: No clue. What did I do? Connected the cardo directly to the phone and the left the phone connected with the bike. In doing so, I can control the navigation/BMW app via the bike and get the audio from the phone. But naturally, I cannot control the music via the bike or accept phone calls using the bikes controls. 2/3 of the multimedia functions do not work properly... Meanwhile: It's 2024, I've had my bike's firmware updated recently, as well as the cardo's firmware and the BMW app. I deleted every connection, disconnected the Connected Ride cradle to "reboot" this as well, initialized everything from scratch. Worked for one ride. The next day: Still the same issue. And to not forget mentioning it: My phone changed to an iPhone 14, using the newest version of iOS and I even tested the same stuff with another cardo unit to make sure, it IS REALLY not the cardo (which wouldn't work when connected to the phone directly, if being broken)... I'm really out of ideas... And just from despair I started researching the internet and youTube AGAIN, hoping anyone might have had some insights over the last two years... In doing so, I stumbled over your video. ANY IDEAS, ANYONE? 😮‍💨

Should mention that pairing like this eliminates the Cardo voice commands.

If you wanna use voice commands, Pair cardo with TFT on the first slot as driver helmet. Pair phone with with TFT. Than turn off bike and cardo. Than turn on cardo. Put that on pairing mode. Switch the second pairing mode. Than pair with phone again.

@@jaynct double check the TFT firmware. When I first bought my 2018 GSA they had a few updates and the original releases had problems with pairing.

@@avvfabriziogenna you can use a cheap bluetooth earphone, that will definitely work. Dongle is a bit of a hit and miss
