I mean, he's not entirely wrong. It's a generic term for the overall syndrome the patient exhibits for which there could be a wide variety of underlying causes. It's a general term and not a specific term... sort of like the term SVT in cardiology.
Why is he undercutting his own authority at the start?
ED means fighting yourself to 'death' when you need to get into custody. You need a medic on the scene asap.
