shocking booking on Peter King. I had a great view of Clarkys goal in Canton Stand. Treasured memories of Ninians Park.
Unlike the anaemic Cardiff City Stadium, the old Ninian Park had character and an intimidating atmosphere especially with the Grange End in full voice! That's where the boot boys or bovver boys hung out!

Ah those were days...violent shithole.Miss the old ultra violence,getting mugged for the scarf me gran lovingly knitted and all that long lost menace.These days I can actually take my kids safely.....Shame

Cardiff had some amazing games in this competition - could even have made it to the final in 1968 had it not been for a goalkeeping error.
Glad to say I was there , at the age of 14 .

This was a competition for the teams who had won the Cup in their respective countries. Nowadays the Cup winners of each country are in the Europa League - as well as teams who qualify through their league position
