Carburetor CFM Mods! | Big Performance Gain! | Project XMC Holley Carburetor | Fine Tuning Airflow

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

project XMC is out X-treamly Modified Carburetor Build that we are doing with a 600cfm Holley carburetor!
we have ported it, polished it, and even stuffed it full of J&B Weld! and the result was an extra 100+cfm of airflow and 2 times the booster signal! WOW!
here is ‪@josephnowak‬ video on flow bench testing it during its multiple transformations and modifications were he breaks the numbers down in a spreadsheet and an easy to follow and understand format
• Holley 600 + JB Weld |...
now it is time to do more testing! flow numbers are nice and all....but I want to SEE what is happening with airflow you know what I mean?
well I have just the way to test it!

I can't tell if your serious or using sarcasm 😅 I thought it was pretty neat to see how the air is getting pulled into the carburetor, need a better setup though so I can film the affect better! 😃

@@jeffreyurbain9604 project XMC has really shown what works! I have also been blown away by its results, and just using playdough on that other carburetor with tangible visual results has given me many ideas! 😃 The actual flow test with Joseph Nowak has been extremely valuable too, and to think we achieved all of that without altering the venturi diameter is crazy 😂

Project xmc is coming along nicely. I registered just to comment on your videos here. As a fellow carburetor and speed freak enthusiast I like your break out of the box mentality. So speaking about booster signal - how about a comparison test with a clear tube between the main body and the vacume? Hook up a fuid supply somehow to the booster wirh a jet. Nothin fancy, quick and dirty does the trick!

@@DanLeveque oh dude sweet! I truly appreciate you following along and I am truly humbled you made an account just to comment! Thank you! 😃 Ok so the setup your suggesting, are we looking for how the fluid will come out of the boosters? Or what is it we are looking for! 😁

Basically, let's see physically what's happening with that increased booster signal on the xmc vs the proform vs the play doh modified proform

@DanLeveque I can put a fuel bowl on and fill it with a liquid then vacuum test the proform with and without the playdough to see if the liquid get atomized any differently 🤔 I could also get a vacuum guage and hook it up to the booster passage to see if we can put playdough in a few spots at a time and see if we can see an increase in vacuum! 😃

@newguysgarage6802 play on brother! I think it would be interesting to see. I have no idea if a regular vacume gage would work. I think it would require something more sensitive. Ultimately though the xmc has something more to say and I'm fascinated with how it will really work on the road and track. I personally run that same proform main body and have been real impressed with it. I have a 850 vs base plate I've been interested in adding to it. Started lookin around to see what other people were doin and found you doin your thing. Shoot I'm talking too much. Lookin forward to your next experience man!

Not necessarily, a ruff surface finish can lead to a strong boundary layer. Air will flow over air a lot smoother than it will flow over a solid surface. Like the golf ball affect lol
