3:50 you can set up a laser line from above down the table. That way, you won't need to do anything but cut on that line using a disk knife.

roof looks awesome! Quick tip, if you use two strips of thick doubled sided foam tape on your body stands and then stick the roof down you can keep it from moving around while you are buffing. Great job guys, keep it up

Great to see you back!! That stabilized carbon looks great, but for the cost you could probably just pre-cut pieces, mist the backs of them with some Super 77 and let it dry before layup to achieve more or less the same result.

I am restoring a 78 280z and it has a sunroof that I want gone yall should think about selling these as there people who would buy them (me specifically). Well done though it looks fantastic and the fit looks perfect! can't wait to see it on and painted! Make sure to include a video of how to install it as it can't be tack welded!

I have a carbon hood that was cleared over then painted over that clear then had the paint stripped off. That left a lot of pinholes in a few areas and was wondering what anyone would recommend for fixing this issue. Thank you, and I'm excited to see more cool projects.

Excited for this. Stuff of dreams here. The S30 is just a dream chassis for me. Now you’re bringing it to the 21st century with composites.

Do you do resin infusion? That method is faster then wet lay up and you dont use as much resin.

As a novice, I’d like to know why you don’t add some core between the layers? Maybe not for strength, but stuff like heat transfer and a panel that thin seems like it could vibrate and be a bit noisy, which a thin core might stiffen up and help with?

I know you're the carbon master, but would structuring the door frame to the wheel well be better? I know it will be all body glued, but removing stress from flex points will be better for the carbon right?

If this guy wins the lottery he should just take the spot weld cutter to every spot weld on the whole car and do fiberglass molds for everything including floors, trunk, frame rails, ect... Full carbon z chassis all held together with 3m panel bond adhesive lol :)

With all the work you are putting into this, shouldn't you dip the chassis and seal it up?

So the plan is to have all panels available in carbon after this car?

Is it possible to do carbon floor panels? Would it bond and hold the weight?

So what does it coat to build a carbon body for a 240z or 260z and how much performance do you gain compared to just adding extra hp ? is it a huge weight loss ?

we made it from an original s30 roof we had given to us. it will snap on and fit flush

What is this clear gel coat you speak of? As far as I know there isn’t an epoxy gel coat and polyester gel coat probably isn’t compatible with epoxy.

Panel bond. Its a high strength glue for body panels. Lots of OEM manufacturers use it in place of welds in non structural areas. Cuts down on warpage

I mix epoxy resin’s for a living, and I’m surprised that you don’t scrape the sides of your container with your stir stick unless you didn’t show it in the video. Also, I don’t understand why you don’t use pre-marked containers for measuring.

i would've acid dipped the frame if it were my car...you've gone this far

If you are mixing using those sticks, you probably are not quite perfect in you're 3 to 1 mix. Because the circumference is different from the bottom to the top of the cup.
