Carbon Buildup Removal with BG Platinum 44K / Cleans Catalytic Converter / Best Carbon Cleaner?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Here's my experience with carbon buildup removal using BG Platinum 44K which claims that it cleans catalytic converter and O2 sensors in addition to the pistons. Is this one of the best carbon cleaner products? Is BG44K worth it? Find out as I show the pistons, O2 sensor and catalytic converter before and after use. If you're looking for how to remove carbon buildup from your engine, this before and after comparison shows what to expect with this product. It does show piston carbon removal and is one of those options for cleaning carbon without removal of parts.

    I have used this product for years, the key to it is how many heat cycles you have before the tank of fuel is gone. The bg rep told me you need 13 engine hours and 10 to 15 drive cycles to see any real gain.

    Totally agree. Heat definitely helps with blasting those deposits. Comeling to think of it, it even helps in a warm wash😂. Certainly looking forward to the 'heated' experiment!

    What do you mean by "Heat cycles"? anmddddd drive cycles is 10-15 cans used assuming one per fill up right?

    Take off converter. Pour in 1/2 gallon diesel, swish around, pour out. repeat twice. Next pour in 1/2 gallon gasoline, swish all around for a minute or two. repeat twice. last fill with 1/2 gallon hot VERY soapy water. Shake all around and drain. repeat twice. Flush with garden hose for a few seconds to get out soap residue , it doesnt have to be perfect. stand up and drain , or use air compressor blown thru, (or a leaf blower) to dry it for a minute. Re install on vehicle. Start it and let it idle for a bit and get hot before hammering the throttle. You are DONE . for like $5 bucks! Best bet, buy the wife a new dish soap so she doesn't freak out lol.

    Is it normal that your pistons get this dirty after only a few month of usage knowing you did the exact same process using the liqui moly equivalent?

  • @DIYAutoworksNG

    @DIYAutoworksNG

    Good question. The Liqui Moly video was actually 1 year ago, but the real issue is just that the quality of the gas is not as good. I don't have access to premium fuel grades.

    Why does it matter if the back of the valves and valve stems are covered in carbon? If the valve closes properly it wouldn't matter.

  • @DIYAutoworksNG

    If you're not preventive on those areas, it would eventually get to the point where it impedes air intake to the combustion chamber.
