Im a long nail lover but i just cant do them any more, it makes life soooo difficult, they get in the way and im tired of damaging my real nails. I just took mine off and probably wont go back. Plus you have to make sure to keep them super clean bc they do collect bacteria. More power to her the drink looks yummy

They became such a pain, they got in the way and hindered / slowed me from doing my job @ work. Needless to say I took them off after maybe one week.

@exquisite921 I had somewhat long nails. Kid you not, I worked at Wawa and doing simple tasks like making coffees and cleaning made my nail pop. I had acrylic long nails, and it didn't feel comfortable doing those tasks. When it breaks off, it will take a piece of the real nail with it. The pain of it doing that. Then, if it didn't fully break off, i have to carefully take it off. Ouch! It is beautiful to have those nails, but boy, you can't work with it. And, I'm guessing this lady here doesn't really work an actual job. Because it's literally impossible.

@jenniii4608 no, it's not very practical, i've done it for years and i realize thst i hate struggling to do simple things like *drops coin* now i can't pick it up because my nails are too long... going INSIDE the gas station to pay bc my card gets stuck in the pump slot. Like I could go on. It's the accidental bumps and breaks for me though. One girl who used to do mine put the nail on so securely that it literally would NOT separate from my real nail and i found out the hard way. I was headed to work, on my way out i hit my hand against the door way of my bedroom. At first it didn't hurt but the pain shot up my finger so bad I literally laid on the floor and screamed like I was dying. It was so painful. I literally couldn't do anything but scream and cry for maybe 30-45 minutes. I eventually got enough strength to head to the urgent care and the Dr couldn't do much, she had to take medical pliers and cut the nail down bc it was so thick. Thank God she numbed me up. We ended up seeing that my whole nail separated from the nail bed and she told me the only thing I could do was wait for the nail to fall of by itself and grow back. It was a very long process. I still have pics it took several month to watch my nail die, be discolored, fall off, have no nail then the new nail grow back. Probably a full year

@exquisite921 Oh my. I'm sorry for that to happen to you. Your nail is going to grow back, strong and healthy. That's why I fear for myself. These nail techs be forgetting that fake nails shouldn't be so glued onto the bed on the nail. It should be able to loosen on its own when the real nail starts growing. That's why I stopped entirely on getting them and doing my own nails. There are other women who experience exactly what you have and still get them done. I just can't fanthom the pain. :(

I asked her about the long nails and being sanitary and her response is “ no mater who it is, the ones with the long nails will always have fecal mater residue under and on the nails.” And “ always look at the servers nails at restaurants or food service places”. My nails were never this long but they were still very long. Most times you don’t start with this length. It’s gradual and happens over time. So you have more than enough time to get used to them. You wipe like a normal person would. It’s so odd that this is the thing that everyone wonders about. I used to get asked this question daily. What’s actually harder is buttoning shirts with long nails. And with that I button it on the hanger then slip it over my head like a regular shirt in case you were curious. But I think her nails are gorgeous honestly.

Can you see germs? No. But they are there. She may not have visible dirt but essentially we all have dirty hands unless recently washed and even then the towels also can have germs. Nails like that can have tons of them and you won't be able to see them. Point being here that this is her personal kitchen so no one in the comments should focus on that.
