I didn't want to be a minivan mom too, but when I found out I was having twins, I got one and LOVE IT! Sliding doors are sooooo convenient!

My parents had an expedition when we were little and it is STILL going strong! 20 + years!

Binge watching some of your older videos since I am blessed to have discovered your channel not too long ago and love it......thanks for all you share Kendra.....beautiful you and beautiful family! I love the Expedition and in the white with black....very classy.......cool to hear you had an Explorer, we have an Explorer we love and a Honda Odysey van, love both, and good to know the Expedition is great too.

I literally can’t recommend this car enough! I LOVE it! Feeling so safe like you said, how much you can see and how much room and storage is in the car is what I love the most. The ultimate mom car haha. 🙌🏼

I drove an expedition for 12 years when my three boys were younger, I was a no minivan mom too, lol. I loved it. We just downsized to a VW Atlas now that our oldest has gone off to college.

Nice! I had to upgrade my car when I was pregnant with my 3rd also. I have 3 kids in car seats and fitting 3 car seats in the middle row was one of my must haves. I ended up with a Dodge Durango and it fits perfect. Everyone always thought I was crazy for making this whole car seat thing such a big deal but I’m glad I did. I had the same worries/concerns as you did.

We've got the same car and have 6 kids all in carseats, you can fit 3 carseats across in the 3rd row too (even rear facing ones fit) That is why we bought this car and we LOVE it!

Girl yes! I'm the same. I just bought a insert. Search Amazon for Gadjit Cup Keeper BLACK Car Cup Holder Adapter it tells the exact measurement so you can make sure it fits. There's tons of sizes! Or you can just search on Amazon cup holder adaptor for bigger sizes. That's what I did. Such a nice car 😍

We are a family of 5 and we had the expedition for so many years! Now that everyone but my youngest brother drives their our cars, my mom got a smaller SUV but we actually really miss having the third row space! I learned how to drive in my mom’s expedition and I refuse to ever get a mini van so if I have more than 2 kids I will definitely be getting an expedition in the future!

You are so brave for having those light colored car seats! Hahaa Love the car! We’re a family of 4 but go on road trips/ camping/ and have a double stroller...so we need all the room we can get! Looking to upgrade to a bigger car soon. This was so helpful!

@@PrettyBalanced Ours is a 2008 and it gets about 15-17mpg - not great but it tows our boat like a champ and fits our whole family. Two adults, two teenagers, a toddler and a dog. :)

I just recently got a Ford Focus but when it comes the time for a new vehicle I really want the explorer! I only have one kiddo in a rear facing seat. By then she will be forward facing so it will be perfect!

Gah! You didn’t move up the seat to see how people climb in the back! I’m expecting my 6th in nov and we will have 4 in car seats. Finding a vehicle big enough is a dilema right now! This suv might make the list. It’s so nice!

We have a Ford Focus and escape and love it! It fits my parents and I perfectly! When I move out and start my own family I definitely want an escape or explorer depending on family size. We are definitely a Ford family haha.

I'm so jealous! I miss my trunk! We had twins too, but they are number 2&3...so because there are 2 rear facing seats at the same time we had to move to a mini van. Even then most of the minivans are built so that #1 would have had to climb in through the trunk. I'm starting to like my Odessey though, I guess. (We are rear facing until 3 ideally in my province) I miss the trunk space!!!

This is my dream car as an expecting new mom!! However I don’t think I can convince my husband to get an expedition right now. So I think we may get a Ford Explorer next year, which I’m still excited for. I’m glad you said that’s what you had first and liked it 😊 Thanks for making this video! It’s super helpful!

Hi! I know it’s been a couple years since you’ve posted, but how easy is it to flip the seat forward with a car seat in it so others can get in the 3rd row? Will it work or do I have to take seat out or adjust anything?

Awww, Thanks Kendra for the like. :) I was worried you thought I was trying to mess up your wall here or cause something. I just learned those facts from my physics professor, he is working on the particle beam. If it hadn't come from such a reliable source, I wouldnt have mentioned it. I guess if people don't know you, they can take it the wrong way. Only went out on a limb because you and your whole family are so wonderful. Always stick to doing what you think is best just as you always do!!! I bet it's gorgeous there in CA. It is stunning here in TX. ;)

I would LOVE one of these cars!! I had my eye on it s few months ago but instead went with the Dodge Durango.. this is also a really nice car with third row seating! Yours definitely has the larger cabin tho 😍

You'll want to make sure you're using the tether on the forward facing seats. The carseats have a strap that goes over your car seat and hooks onto the metal clips on the back of the seat. Unfortunately even though the seats "fit" carseats are not allowed to be braced against each other, you need to have enough space between each seat to slide a piece of paper. The setup you have is not safe, I would definitely move a toddler to the third row and search for a CPST in your area to help you with these issues. Good luck!

@Kaili I was curious if this was okay with them touching. Good to know about the paper test. Either way this is a gorgeous car and even with one child in the back there is still so much room!

Not sure if this question has been asked or if you’ve demonstrated, but can a person access the 3rd row with the car seats still attached/buckled inn on the 2nd row? I did not see any shoulder seatbelts.

Are the seat belts in the middle row equipped with inflatable air bags and if so was this an issue to over come with the installation of your three child car seats ? Thank you

Since you said you learned how to drive on your dads expedition, would you say they drive fairly the same on the older models? Say 2007ish era? 😬 We are looking at buying an older one, till we have the $ to buy the new one.

It’s the Suburban back 3rd row but instead of the suburban it’s the Expedition Max!!!!! I love cars Especially the big ones

Thank you for sharing this video, it’s so helpful!! We are about to have three girls under 15 months old when our twins get here in July. In your opinion, would three rear-facing car seats fit side by side in the middle row? Debating between the quad bucket and bench row options in case we need to climb in the back to put a kiddo in until they can sit forward facing.

How is it to drive? I’m so worried to get the max because it’s so big. When I drive my husbands truck I feel like I can’t park the huge thing haha.

How are you able to have the convertible seats in the middle seat? Is it anchored in? Is it a secure fit? I would love this set up in our car so much better but we can’t make it work!

The Thomas Life it has clips in the center seat as well! So you can anchor them in all three seats in the second row and two in the back

At risk of sounds like the crazy car seat police, do you have the girls’ car seats tethered with the top tether? I believe all forward facing car seats have to be tethered with both the lower anchors (or through the seat belt path) AND the top tether.

Erin Chaney I’m watching this video because I’m having car seat installation issues with the same car. The 3rd row head rests are immobile so you can’t get the car seat to sit flush with the vehicle seat back, let alone even fit the top tether strap through the bottom space. Was hoping to find some secret trick or something. Looks like no fwd facing seats in the 3rd row? 😫😭

Does the second row middle seat come off? We’re a family of 6 plus our dog and thanks to this review I’m going with a suburban I feel like it would be a better fit for us! And at this point a minivan is not an option lol

Love your new car! When our Son moved from NYC to Miami we gave him our older Lexus RX, which he loves. He needed another car and just got a Toyota Highlander with the 3rd row seat. He got the bucket seats for the 2nd row since they just have one child. We’re hoping they’ll start thinking about at least 1 more! ☺️

So I know you said you loved the Explorer. I have a 17 Yukon XL. Would you say that its worth it to trade for an Expedition Max? Im married with 5 kids And if it's bigger and worth it, then I may be trading in May!

Morgoo S I would. Even under the best of circumstances, I would never put two year olds near an infant. These little girls are always so busy. If it was me, I wouldn’t the toddlers so close to an infant. With two or three rows I would be separating them.

Kendra Atkins yes but when you front face there’s a tether strap that comes from the back of the car seat and clips onto the back of the seat of the vehicle. I’m in Canada and that’s how it is here. I’d assume it’s the same there too. When you rear face you don’t use it, only front facing

You are supposed to use the tether strap for all forward facing carseats in the US as well. I feel like a lot of people dont know about them though.

I have my 4 bigger kids in no car seats no strollers in a Tahoe but now I’m prego with number 5 I’ll have to look into your car my car has no trunk so I have to fold down a seat just to put a stroller

Hey girl! I know it’s super convenient to have all three seats in the middle, but with the seats you have, it’s actually not safe. I could be wrong, but I. The video it seems like there is a lot of over lap with each seat, and this isn’t safe for your kiddos! There’s a really awesome page on Facebook called car seats for the Little’s that has techs that help out so you can get a professional opinion, but you may have to move one of the girls to the back row unfortunately :(
