    My car was declared total loss as well. I’m having very difficult with #Acko insurance. More than 30days and 60days from initial request from agreeing total loss they are giving me silly reasons everyday. There’s no point in escalating to Grievances, they don’t help, Acko’s salvage vendors are useless and they lie so much and thinks customers are dumb. For everyone reading this, I will strictly not recommend Acko to anyone going forward 😒

    RTI is not new but often insurance agents doesn't explain the key differences.Very well articulated and useful for everyone.But key message is don't buy second hand car from Chennai or near reggistered. It will be sold as low millage car but you will be in trap and trouble... Most of them are shipped to CBE for rework.. be cautious ...

    The total loss is a beautiful concept in the US if it is a new car with less damage. In the case of total loss, there are two cases, (1) the insurance will pay up to the maximum value of the car and absorb the car. (2) the insurance pays 50 ~60% of the IDV; they also give your car back and you can fix it on your own or any local mechanic. The second option is perfect if we can fix the by our own with cheap prices and sell it for a good price and make a consistent profit but the title will be moved from clean to salvage. If you see any title as salvage means the car is totaled and it is rebuilt. But remember it is not the clean title, you might face insurance premium hikes and doomed resale value.

    50%? in second case? Which world are you living in? There is something called salvage value that is determined by the insurance company. This value is determined by the salvage yard brokers. If you are going to let your car go, the insurance company is going to have the salvage yard quote as less as possible, then pay up IDV minus the salvage value. The insurance surveyor and the salvage yard owner will have an off the books understanding whereby the insurance surveyor will seek some commission. Win win situation for both insurance surveyor and the salvage yard dealer. The Insurance surveyor won't work to his employer in this case. Imagine how much commission an insurance surveyor could make for many cars If you say upfront that you want to keep the car, th insurance surveyor has nothing to gain. So he will have the salvage yard dealer quote as high as possible so that he can reduce the settlement as much as possible. In this case the same surveyor will loyally work for the employer Moreover the Insurance surveyor or company has no obligation to show you how much was offered for the car. In the case you refer to, one would be lucky if he could get 30% of the IDV Remember that insurance surveyors are outsourced / contract employees and have too much power. It's a shady business

    Useful video Sir, one addition thing we might have covered in detail this video is: Process/Struggle taking out the vehicle from Service centre- as they come up with huge charges in name of Parking and Estimation Charges. I had a very worst experience with Vishnu Cars Medavakkam- really an unprofessional way of dealing customers. Parking charges 350 per day + 2% on Estimation Charges And the worst thing- Few parts missing out like Jack, etc. Wrong Estimations No communication or updates from Service Advisor Arrogant way of interaction

    This is all based on the age of the vehicle So always maintain well the vehicle and keep good IDV value If you do so then old vehicles you will get profit For new vehicles it is loss as u dont get the diff between the exshowroom and onroad price as it is not covered in insurance

Interviewer வண்டியின் சொந்தக்காரர் சொன்னதை சரியாக கவனிப்பதில்லை மாதிரி தெரிகிறது. வண்டி வாங்குபவர் just like that ( யோசிக்காம) RTI எல்லாத்தையும் tick செய்ததாக திரும்ப திரும்ப சொல்கிறார். ஆனால் interviewer சாமர்த்தியமாக RTI select செய்து அதிகம் loss இல்லாம தப்பித்துவிட்டார் என்று சொல்கிறார்.

    If your vehicle is in hypothecation (under bank loan) and declared as total loss, insurance settlement process time will slightly extended as we need to close the loan account and get NOC to submit to insurance company

    Good information. I also went through this process. but for me, they charged a parking charges of around 10k. and 2% of the estimation charge by the car service center. Also, insurance requested a consent letter with a rotary signature to issue payment. Whole process took around 3 months.

    Hi Bro , as far as I know the jnsurance companies which were tied with the dealer will provide certain options to the dealer. But while selling outside the insurance company will have more options. If 5 Insurance are recommended by service centre. Those 5 are provided by an company like insurance broker to the service centre. So those policies apply. Only thing is that if you get it from the dealer they itself can initiate the claim and they will get the OTP for claiming. Otherwise you need to initiate the claim. That too dealer will assist and take care. The thing you need to keep in mind is that you need to purchase insurance from outside and it's better from the companies which dealer suggests.

    Information on reinsurance was not right. Got to do more research before providing information to the general public. Apart from that it was informative and of course a great advertisement for ‘KIA Sonet’.
