Stupid criminals need to learn how to get jobs and work and buy their own stuff. I can’t stand seeing stuff stolen especially peoples cars and trucks and even more so trucks that people likely use for work. Your not only stealing their truck also their way to make an honest dollar and support their family and themselves. My grandpa had his truck and trailer stolen once with tens of thousands of dollars of tools in it and it took him a long time to recover and get all the tools to do all the jobs he usually does to make a living. Plus it costed him a ton to rent tools that he once had and needed to do jobs.

Love how you and your team work so well together on these tough recoveries. FWIW - Cell service can be spotty too here in Upstate NY. I know that exact feeling, find a spot that has good service and don't move. I've had really good luck using CB radios, and 102" whip antennas (about same length as your front bumper flag). They work good when talking 4-5 miles apart to each other, like between your team and the tow rig out on the main road. FRS/GMRS don't work too well in the woods, Jeep clubs like the CBs cuz it works better in the hilly/wooded terrain. Maybe something for the Corvair. Make up a "handle" like Nader's Nemesis or something fun :)

I did the scouting trips in Idaho as the scoutmaster in a 2 wheel drive Ford E350 van. Roads like that one, snow 10 inches deep, all sorts of fun. Two times I had to tow someone else’s 4x4, once when the trans failed in a suburban and once when a guy decided to go through 14 inches of snow in his Ford pickup. I did get “stuck” once when the hill was too steep and my tires too worn on a grassy road up Saddle Mountain by Howe Idaho.
