My father used to own one, he bought it in 2013. In around 2016, it was constantly malfunctioning then my father stopped driving it and bought a suv. In around 2019/20 my father decided to sell it. Good old days, this car is basically my childhood, I was eager to visit my grandparents because I could have a ride on this beautiful BMW. It means a lot to me

That engine is definitely still the Twin Turbo N54, and not the Twin Scroll N55 that Cooley describes in the video.

The cockpit looks stunning! Nothing to complain about!

At 6:55 they switched over to the Chevrolet Cruze interior. WTF?

This guy is very picky with this amazing car. What the hell is wrong with him!! The BMW Z4 cars are some of the best.

The dash is one of the reasons i bought one, its what sets it apart from the merc and boxter i tested.

I think the dashboard looks great. My first impression when I started looking for a Z4 was that the dashboard should have straighter lines....But the first time I sat in a Z4 ( also the 2nd time) I thought that the dashboard looked much better than on pictures. Now I have a Z4 e89...and I just love the dashboard.

i know it's got its flaws but i do love this car. i think the 28i is the sweetspot (good economy plenty fast enough) and the m-sport trim looks amazing, just have to get the adaptive suspension. but it looks so good in person, way more expensive than it does.

Cooley has reviewed this car in the same model year three times. One time it was blue and the third time it was red again.

Both z4 35i and z4 35is come with the twin turbo engine with dct transmission. Video is incorrect in saying the z4 35is has a single turbo and that the z4 35i has a traditional automatic.

Cole Lockridge No he's not. The z4 35i and 35is have the N54 twin turbo engine and either the DCT or manual trans (35i only for manual).

z4 is all about her appearance, it's so elegant/gorgeous and incomparable with slk and tt tt looks like a toy car with the hard top down, and slk/slc looks like an entry level car and kinda cheap for driving experience there is no such big difference with her rivals

Yep, as others have said, the Z4 never got the N55 engine. It's the last car in BMW's lineup with the N54.

I can't see dropping 70k on this when I can get a C7 stingray, Boxster S or the M3 all fully loaded which are by far all better options bmw really needs to rethink their strategy with the Z4

Peter Costello M3 is irrelevant, because it's a cabrio, not a roadster. If you want a roadster why would you need a cabrio. Boxter looks gay. Although quality is above-sky-level. C7 doesn't have metal roof, so you can't use it in winter. But with its engine and looks it's probably most interesting rival out of three, if you ready to deal with its interior. I think most Z4 buyers's opinion is like mine.

I like the Host. He’s funny.

That's because in cheap cars compromises have to be made, and that gives people things to complain about. In a high end car there usually isn't much you can complain about.

+NickLiang A normal automatic has one clutch. While this one has 2 two. The clutch allows to switch gears.

Hey cooley, the interior dash is shifted towards the driver. These are typical of sports cars. You do a better job reviewing economy family cars. Leave the sports cars to car and driver, top gear etc.. Just my humble opinion :)

Always prefered the e85/e86 z4,especially the coupe.The e89 is a bit lardy and too much like a mercedes slk.

Buying a car is one thing, maintaining a car another. I could buy a user Porsche 911 or older Ferrari V8. But I cannot (or don’t want to) pay for the annual maintenance with the specialists. My E89 35i (manual transmission as it should be) gets a standard maintenance ever year, too. Costs me almost nothing compared to the costs of top class sport cars. Just change the liquids at the Nissan (and you should always after overheating it)
