Performances like this make it impossible for people to say “car seat headrest is will toledo”. Like, car seat is a band now and every member brings something that adds so much depth to the original sound. Ethan’s backup vocals keep getting more and more confident and on point PLUS his Neil Young part on this is so killer. The whole outro of this performance is so tight, the naked giants guys give the live sound so much texture. All so good. This is such a special performance that really highlights the level of collaboration between this group of amazing musicians. It's been an absolute pleasure watching them grow into what they are now.

That’s totally fine, but it shouldn’t be downplayed that Will has complete and total creative control...so where does that really leave it

Gabriel Michael I mean, Will might be driving the ship but to say he has “complete creative control” is probably too black and white. Making music is always a collaboration. In interviews Will has emphasized that this is a BAND now and that he wishes more people would see it as such. I’m not downplaying Will in anyway (I

It’s crazy how will just writes songs and can make so many different versions of them and they all sound good
@weirdskyreallyweird.5519

I think the reason these new versions come together so well is beacause it's not just Will. Will has total control over the album versions and then the live versions take their own form naturally through the involvement of other band members creative involvement x
I love the "powderfinger interlude" but this live version sounds like one song. This version needs to be recorded to put on a record. So stunning.
sometimes when I feel like a failure, I watch this video to remind myself that I am, in fact, a failure. hats off to car seat headrest, absolutely love everything you guys do.

I love this entire performance, but the outro with everyone singing different parts sounds as good as fried chicken tastes
This is one of my favorite superband performances ever. Naked Giants add the perfect touch to this song/band duet. Like Colonel Sander's 11 herbs and spices....this is one recipe I will never forget
I love everything about this but I'm so psyched to see Ethan carry so much of a part. He really sounds so great. And that outro is amazing.

Quite possibly the best recording to date of this exceptional band. Seamlessly mixing the alienation of Neil Young’s classic,Powderfinger, from Rust Never Sleeps to will’s tale of redemptive togetherness, this set is compelling and on spot.

The first time I watched this performance I wasn't crazy about this version of "Sober to Death" but now four or so listens later I keep coming back to this video. Car seat headrest really are becoming one of my favorite bands of all time.
5 years later and I still get goosebumps.

Stunning. Listened like 20 times since it dropped. I far prefer music on record than live music, but this blows the album version out of the water. Having that many people on board brings a gorgeous dynamic and I think Will relishes the process of putting it all together.

i get to this video because i wanted to see how do they play the "dont worry" part live... This is just way better than i expected
Its 3am and i think I have found something to be addicted to. Man how tf did i not find this band earlier ????
The rhythm guitarrist reminds me a little of young James Hetfield. Just the looks, nothing big :) Never found a band with lyrics as sensitive and beautiful as theirs. They have this awesome power especially when you're in that transition phase between the teens and adulthood like I am to make you feel emotionally sheltered and hugged. Will's such an unique soul, conveying that impulsive, yet sensible self you can get to meet during those times. Great performance, watched the full one, now returning for a lovely tune.
My favourite version of Sober 🥺 I love when they all sing together, and it’s just so lovely the more slowed down and clear version ahhh so pretty and I can’t stop listening to this song! I really like hearing Ethan sing too ~ they’re all so good oh my gosh!!!
This is the best KEXP live performance and you cannot tell me otherwise
Truly amazing. It’s crazy how much Sober to Death and really the whole Face to Face re-recording has grown on me.

Lovely, lovely In your jeans, frenzy Another movie that I didn't watch with you Another movie and I'm gonna have to move That final terror is in your house somewhere Hiding in boxes, behind closed doorways Out from the forest adjacent to your garage I've seen its marks at the corner of your eyes Nothing works Nothing works for everyone Good stories are bad lives Good stories are bad lives Take your hands off your neck and hold On to the ghost of my body You know that good lives make bad stories You can text me When punching mattresses gets old Don't think it'll always be this way Not comforted by anything I say We were wrecks before we crashed into each other Such a good idea If it turns you on We have breakdowns And sometimes we don't have breakdowns I want to hear you going psycho If you're going psycho I wanna hear Every conversation just ends with you screaming Not even words, just ah-ah-ah-ahh, ooh hey! [Instrumental break] Look out, Mama, there's a white boat coming up the river With a big red beacon, and a flag, and a man on the rail I think you'd better call John Because it don't look like they're here to deliver the mail And it's less than a mile away I hope they didn't come to stay It's got numbers on the side and a gun And it's making big waves Daddy's rifle in my hand felt reassuring He said, Red means run, son, numbers add up to nothing But when the first shot hit the docks, I saw it coming Raised my rifle to my eye Never stopped to wonder why Then I saw black And my face splashed in the sky [Instrumental break] Don't worry, you and me won't be alone no more Don't worry Don't worry, you and me won't be alone no more Don't worry (don't worry) Don't worry, you and me won't be alone no more Don't worry (cause you and me, won't be alone no more) Don't worry, you and me won't be alone no more Don't worry (no, don't worry, oh no no no no no more no more!) (Todo está bien chévere) Don't worry, you and me won't be alone no more Don't worry (Todo está bien chévere) Don't worry, you and me won't be alone no more (Oh, don't you worry about a thing!)
