I'm about to do a 3 color job on a motorcycle trunk and I was trying to figure out which color to do when. Watching this made me aware that I can do clear coat at in-between stages that I wouldn't normally think to do them. Very helpful!

Dude! What!!!! Big ass car! Lol I was exhausted after each pass. The roof is easily doubly a civic roof and the fenders are the sizes of civic doors

Good to see you painting, only thing I would have done differently is 1/4” silver pin stripe tape and buried it in clear otherwise nice clean job!

I work in a paint booth every day, I love it. But! I really enjoy painting a car in a color from another brand than that car would normally have. Good example would be painting a Fiat 500 in the Subaru rally blue.

Hey man! We would need to utilize another chassis that’s already rwd. Maybe a s13 rear subframe fit into your car? I’ve seen people do that on a crx

You should discussed what Brand products you used, Clear, Base coat ect. I'm getting ready to paint some fenders and two bumpers and I am using AkzoNobel Dyna Coat Economy line (570452) for base and clear. I told my Pro Painter buddy that the clear only cost $40/gal he said that was to cheap form him.LOL Materials can cost a small fortune but it is always great to find out what other people can get by with, while still getting pro level results. Also, on many two tone paint jobs, I always see a hard line you can either feel with your finger nail or see, I would love to know how to avoid these to make smooth transition.

I looked this video up to see if i could get an explanation of how to eliminate the raised edge where the purple is at the tape line between the 2 colors. Any advice would be appreciated, bc i have a very important first paint job at a custom shop coming up. This paint job will determine if they use my business for their mid range jobs or not. I've always struggled with that stupid line between colors

U repaint houses for a living without tape. We usually work top to bottom because of gravity. What tape are you using to insure the purple won't run down onto the white?

How would this work if the client had an already cleared two tone and just wanted a color change on one of the tones without messing with the other tone with clear , would creating a soft line between the two tones be an option?

Got lost on all the layering. A white board or simple drawing would be awesome

What is the brand and color name of the white? How much paint did you use for the entire car and how many coats did you apply?

I have a question once base is coat is painted and dry can you sand it and put clear on top of it thanks in advance

When you wet sanded the white parts clear coat, to ready it for the clear coat, when you shoot over the whole car, what grit to do you use to ensure a good bite but doesn't show scratches?

@UCjkMA-aUIgMefETpJ7bw5uw I ended up just shooting my two tone truck, center first, masked over it the next day, then shot the rest of the truck (top and bottom), unmasked the center, then shot my clear right away. She came out GREAT! :)

How long do you wait to apply the orientation coat awsome job once again

I two toned a truck once on a restoration. It's alot of extra work.
