It's only a good thing if franchise dealerships are closing. That shows a real change in the market.

They will be next and may be it is more of a dump and leave. All the new cars are going to be booted on their lot and subjected to repo by the finance company who provided the floor plan to the dealership.

That isn't about to happen anytime soon.
The demise of the stealership model. Don't think there will be many tears.

it is not about dealershipl, the united states is printing money, and making everything expensive. It is better to have dealership model, or you will be forced to pay the highest cost. My friend got $10grand off the price of the car, in fixed model, you will pay more regardless. You want free market economy
@fgeiger41

@bjsimon802 its absolutely about the dealership. Current situation is a prime example. Ford is trying to get into the BEV market. It's costs them$100k to produce their current crop losing millions. They have to sell at a loss to create momentum. The dealers implemented insane bogus insane mark ups to line their pockets KILLING that momentum. Ford even had to cut prices further. NOW Ford loses on that money, the customer is soured, and NOW inventory is sitting and not moving, hurting the market and Ford. They're their own worst enemies. The majority have ALWAYS fleeced the customer and kept buyers ignorant. They're dying and good riddance. It's not about a free market but a fair market.
"Don't worry. We aren't going anywhere." is code language for "We are never coming back."

Dude car dealerships are long over due for going out of business. Adapt with the times or go out of business. Plus they have screwed their customers since the invention of the automobile. Time to get theirs
Good. Finally, the stealership's greediness has caught up to them😂🤣
If anyone ever doubted we are moving toward a recession, let this car dealer debacle be the warning. My concern is if all dealers go bust, who will do the warranty work? The direct to consumer model does have its pitfalls.

Very good point and also there are still some very good people working for dealers and that’s a lot of people out of work.
@TheNortheastAl
Жыл бұрын
@@Aaron-or6ov Yes, you’re right about that. Sales people, service and office staff out of a job is not a good thing, for sure. I hope the dealer model can undergo a change where the customer can buy the car with the price set by the manufacturer and not have to get ripped off it’s add-ons. Out the door pricing makes it easier for most people to budget for a vehicle before they even step foot in a dealership.

even with direct customer purchases u still need a physical place to have the cars serviced and have parts on hand. i mean u see a bunch of ppl having to go straight to the Tesla factory to have their cars serviced. not exactly one near everyone. i see a lot of the used car dealerships going under cuz if ur not a big brand name automaker, i dont see u lasting. all the dealerships need to do is sell direct to the customers and have the vehicles shipped to a location for pickup. get rid of the car salesman just have ppl come in look at what u got.... place ur order and wait for ur car to show up. if not browse what they got on the lot and maybe do a test drive. thats the biggest thing. doing test-drives
@Cacowninja

@@TheNortheastAl People need jobs but they also need better businesses that don't rip them off. If the car market gets better despite dealerships going under then that's good Car dealerships rip people off btw so this could be a good thing.
a day where a dealership closes is always a good day. trust has never been a virtue of this line of business
For all the Shady dealing and over inflated prices I am glad they are closing. 100k for a truck now? Keep it
When Ford and GM go bankrupt, govt will bail them out, as before, at taxpayer expense. But the small dealerships are history. Cars have gotten so ridiculously high tech and complex, unnecessarily so, they are insanely expensive. In a Depression (our near future), money is tight. Cars need to become more simple so less expensive, and bring down prices further by eliminating middle man (dealers). Thats the future.
@bobby3944

Yes, you are right. When Ford and GM go bankrupt the government will step in to bail them out at tax payer expense. Our government is so use to throwing money at problems to get things "solved". Just like our national debt. Let's raise the national debt another trillion or two, what could go wrong? With all this bailing out it just kicks the can down the road so that when the time comes the problem will be so overwhelming we won't be left with anything but a depression and a 3rd world country.

the insane dims have forced more and more mandatory systems into cars in order to make them unaffordable. this is not an accident, they do not want average Americans to be able to afford cars and this is part of their plan to make that happen
Thank you for this very important and useful information. 👍
time for amazon to start selling cars. free prime shipping, no more lame destination charges..lol

Another moron who blames dealers instead of blaming the politicians who killed supply/production and the even bigger morons who clapped when it happened
All they have to do is sell at msrp and take less of a cut and they’d still be thriving. Greed is the main killer of businesses
I am a customer of US AUTO SALES and they have screwed us all over big time

I don’t know, I have a feeling like the big mega dealers will just buy out the franchise. It’s not any better for the customers my guess that comes from politicians, stopping franchise dealer laws, but they won’t because they are bought and paid for by dealerships, Republican and Democrat.

Can’t wait til all you morons are getting price gouged by direct dealer sales and have absolutely no recourse against it. Youll be crying for the gubberment to intervene somehow. The cycle never ends with sheep making everything worse for everyone else all the time
When these INFLATED Magical Unbelievable Prices then GOOD 4 Them!! When i saw a Jeep Wagoner was $100k yeeeeah Right 🙄
Because banks are failing
Just like the song, you ain't seen nothing yet 🤔
If you look at the number of businesses shuttering locations including retail stores and now these dealers there are a lot of people finding themselves looking for work. New vehicles are getting to the point of pricing themselves out of reach for a great many consumers and I think many trucks now a $1000 a month payment is not getting you a new fully loaded model any longer. I really do think we are heading for a recession that there are very few people alive old enough to remember anything comparable in their past. But just like a roller coaster ride you only climb the hill for so long before you come crashing back down to the bottom. I look for the dealerships to become a thing of the past but not overnight. I could see more of a factory type regional distribution/sales/warranty centers operated by the factory where the middle man or dealership is no longer in the picture. This will allow either the factory to lower prices to a level the consumer can afford while not cutting into their bottom line as they just use the eliminated dealer profits to cover the difference. Personally I have not stepped on a new car dealers lot in over 20 years and do not see that changing in the foreseeable future. Nor have I bought off of a used dealers lot in about the same length of time finding much better deals when I needed to purchase a vehicle through private sales with owners.
I've wanted to get a newer vehicle for a couple years now but refuse to pay the price for them. So I guess they lower prices or go broke.
Good news 👍
Lets make less cars and make same amount of money Greedy manufacturers are to blame
Good a lot of smaller dealerships have disappeared. Loans are too expensive and so are the cars.
"ICE" is melting...
Dealerships just want too much profit per car, it's ridiculous. I have a friend that has a small dealership the most he marks it up is $1500 so that when a customer wants a better deal he knocks off 200-300. Still makes decent money with volume. Dealerships these days want like 8k to 15k in profit.
Good!
Red states.
The dealers screwed the customers, now dealers are screwed. It's that greed that got them. A well lesson learned.

I'm only happy about this if it doesn't apply to the little guy because franchise dealerships are garbage.

In a way I'm glad this is happening because it cleanses the market of all the "out-of-whackness" that's been plaguing it the last 2 years. In another way it sucks for the people that work at these places and have a newborn baby to feed, it's a shame they just couldn't see this coming and adjust business accordingly, maybe even slash prices to make room for more properly priced inventory based on current wholesale prices, not wholesale prices from 6 months ago.
Great News! Have no sympathy for car dealers. We need a break from ripped-offs .
You have to pass alot of muster to get a new car franchise. The manufacturers' captive finance company has the means to keep dealers afloat.
The old ways is not working anymore. One time it took me two days to get a car and insurance for my brother in law who came from China a few months ago. I bought a Tesla and it took me less then 30 minutes to inspect the car and drive away. Nobody trying to sell me BS stuff that in don’t need and no one bothered me unless I got a question.
These all look like used car dealers.....What kind of car dealer accepts "in person" payments?....Sounds a little "shady" to me.
I don't mean to sound like an elitist here, but only 100 used car dealers went out of business. That doesn't sound very significant. Nor would a used car dealership be the place I would look to buy a used car.
Frankly, they have been due to pay the piper for many years.
Good! Fuk-em

This guy is late to the game, this car dealer is done
It’s probably a lot of small crappy used car dealers.
Good! It's well deserved. hey have been fleecing car buyers for years. No sympathy here.
Do the math. Dealers paid higher prices for used cars from customers . The values for the cars has since dropped.
All by designed. No vehicles available. Control the masses.
It dosent matter,they still need people to work on farms and pick fruits!
Really as a society we should have boycotted buying cars when they jacked up interest to double digits… but NO we’re a bunch of sheeple wanting and needing the newest and best…!!!
