A trick I used in a risky situation was to hum a song with a clear and measured pace to steady your hands andnignorenit as you stay focused on what you are doing.

This is just surreal. Imagine stopping a red light and suddenly having to dodge artillery fire. Unbelievable.

Why does the date say 2021? My respects to this poor dude. Must have been terrifying. Edit: the description of the video claims it was geolocated to the correct time and date - the date on the dashcam was apparently wrong. While this could also be false information, it's definitely plausible. But is it what they claim? Who knows. Shelling civilians areas in This manner, whoever is doing it, is just plain wrong.

Maybe they have a different light system or a motor hit something to keep the yellow light. Also if you pay attention in the beginning, the reason why he turns right is because there was a motor to the left of him. Also what about the snow? Some motors don't explode on impact, rather they explode before they hit something. Some people can control how calm they are. Some people don't panic because of adrenaline. They don't realise after the fact they were in the situation. They also seem like light motors. They hardly do damage to dirt, so they won't do any damage to roads

I've been a highly skilled driver most of my life, I've had to dodge so many things that I got to the point where I could be nearly killed if I didn't make a split sec move and just keep going like nothing happened, reacting without having to think about it, just acting to something dangerous before someone could even flinch.... But how do you avoid bombs dropping from the sky? You don't! If it's got your name on it, then nothing can save you, that is scary! The driver was Lucky none of the bombs had his name on them! (I'm disabled now and wish I could join up and drive for Ukraine, my back and legs might be weak but my mind is sharp, my reflexes fast and my heart set on going out doing the Right things)

Let's just take a moment to respect the calmness of the people involved

The bravery I was referring to was meant generally, thinking of the many, particularly civilians, who are taking up arms against trained Russian soldiers. Ironicaly the Russians might find themselves having a mini Stalingrad in Kiev, only this time they would be the aggressors obviously. FIBUA or fighting in built up areas historically costs the attackers who, by having to advance to take ground, are the ones breaking cover, about 4x the number of casualties as in normal, more open, countryside. Supply lines 150-200 miles long will also be their main weakness.

@J J I agree that the sensible thing for the Russians would be to encircle and cut off units, diminishing their supplies and morale, fighting spirit and so on. Divide and conquer as they say. The Russians had great expertise in doing that to the German invaders as they protected their Motherland in WW2. However I think that Putin or his Generals will not feel that they can keep the upper hand and wait to attritionally win this campaign. More NLAWS, Stingers . body armour, better assault rifles and so on will start to deluge the Ukrainian military from the Western powers and the advantages the Russians have could soon be thrown away. It is because of this that I believe the soldiers are/might be throwm into the myriad of streets and districts that can be so costly to move through so they can seize the cities, especially Kyev as quickly as possible. I also believe. perhaps wrongly, that should the Ukrainian president be killed that that would in fact galvanise his countrymen to even greater efforts. During WW2 the Germans, albeit much further into Russia, found that, by late 1942, they had to use 12 soldiers in supply or rear security to keep one soldier fighting on the front line. In Vietnam the Americans had to use 16 to keep one grunt in country as an actual infantryman. Clever Ukranian commanders will do whatever it takes to cut off as much of the snakes body so that the venomous head eventually dies, trying not to face the deadly fangs any more than they have to. If Ukraine does fall, and that is a very real possibility, I believe that the Guerilla war that would envelop any occupying force would be of a magnitute that would amaze and terrify even the most hardened Russian soldiers.

I'll tell you what it feels like... If its my time, fuck it, may it be quick. I was actually pissed off because I didn't have a windshield or doors on the vehicle and rounds landing are fairly random in a general area so I just kept going straight all the while being pissed I had left my ballistic glasses in my chu. I was upset I would get hit with shrapnel in my face and loose my eye sight. After 5 rounds landed, the barrage ended and I slowly came down off the adrenaline.
