Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The best way to prevent a car amplifier from overheating is to buy an amplifier that isn't too cheap, as cheap amplifiers often give off most of their power in the form of heat. I’ve got 2 JL 10” subs. They’re lower end, not bottom of the barrel but they’re by no means top tier. They’re 300w rms each. I’m running them with an old fosgate punch 400. I have it bridged and it overheats if I go on like a half hour drive bassin hard. It’s fine once it comes out of protection mode but I know that can’t be good for the amp. Any advice? I have a regular cab 2001 dodge so room isn’t plentiful. I’m thinking that’s a part of the problem. Any pointers?

    I got a planet audio amp monoblock with a ds18 12 in single sub the ground is connected to a screw on my inertia switch. I've played with my settings in my car and sub to maximize the bass and when I find perfect settings the amp overheats. I noticed when it's cold out my amp will play hard throughout my trip compared to oh let's say anything above 65 degrees in which I would only get 15 - 30 min depending on music I'm playing. Is there any way of designing or putting something together to keep my trunk cool or to give my amp some cold air? Or would I have to switch amps?

    I disagree. Overheating is caused by ONLY clipping or oscillation. Most "cheaper" amps lie about specs so much, most 3000W amps barely make 300wrms at way below 4ohm. Rather look at the voltage coming out of the amp to make your decisions and not the packaging. Multiple the fuse with 13.8 or 14.4 to get True wattage.

    I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but if you mean when you turn it up the it cuts out then it's probably a bad ground. Turning it up increases how much power is being drawn and with a bad ground eventually it will start starving of power

  • @christianbuczko1481

    @christianbuczko1481

    6 жыл бұрын

    You want loud, buy a DBaudio extinct 15" or 12", rated at 5000w peak, nearly 1500W rms. If you wish to retain hearing, buy the little brother Trex by same company rated at 1000Wrms or 3500W peak.

  • @christianbuczko1481

    @christianbuczko1481

    6 жыл бұрын

    And btw, both extinct and Trex are twin voicecoil subs requiring an expert to wire in correctly to the amps rating. You can run both coils in series, 4ohm, or run in parrallel to get 1ohm. Wire either to incorrect impedence amp outputs, and that over heats the amp. MATCH the impedance or blow your amps.

    MA Audio is considered a garbage brand unfortunately, cheap subs and amps. If you are happy with it then thats fine but its on the lower end.

    My mates got a JBL GT4 12" sub(1000w)run by a 4chan juice amp(1500W) wired to two chan(750W). Cost £140 total+fitting. Sounds awesome in his BMW mini. It's louder than my dbaudio 10" Trex 3500W sub run by a mono block 2400W juice amp wired to 4ohm. I could rewire the sub to 1ohm, then get the full power out the amp, at 4ohm its 1000W btw, but I went for the lower power output because it wouldn't blow my sub like 1ohm could if I miss set the gain to over 2/3 max.

    Well if your not a noob then i need your help because I'm dumb as F about car audio. Im sure i have blown one of my twelves, but it passes all of the so called tests to check if its blown. I think its technically bottoming-out bit again I'M NEW TO THIS. The fuk'd up subwoofer does produce bass & at a comparable level to the other sub in my SUV. The problem is that unlike a blown sub that distorts bass & makes that muffled rattle that blown subs all make. Instead my problematic one makes low & mid level bass but when the bass really hits; this one makes a terrible "Thwack!" Slapping sound. The slap doesnt reverberate. Just one sharp crack every time the bass really hits. Some problems with subs are fixable & other's spell doom for the speaker; but NONE of the youtube vids or car-audio websites i have checked address this. The sub glides smoothly up & down within range when pressure is applied. No scratching, clicking or popping sounds come from the sub when i gently push it up & down... Sorry for the lengthy question but I'm trying to provide needed info. Do you know whats wrong? I dont know the impedance or ohms, just that its a 4-chnl 1,200 watt amp &pushing two 12" subs. I traded a Hdtv for the system & paid a shop to install it. Yes im a dummy; please help me solve this.
