My second crack at a Lilienthal Berlin. You may remember the last one had a screw loose, so to speak..... This one is actually really nice. As an every day wear watch, it offers a lot of nice touches for the price. Cheers, JOMW.

I bought the LB chronograph, and love it. Yes there are loads of cheaper quartz chronographs available, but the styling and build quality is spot on. I find myself picking this up and wearing it more than my more expensive automatics.
Thank you Jody for introducing me to this brand.
Your "hello" scared the crap out of me. :-S Thanks for the vid!
Great review
I like it it's very different. Nice find!
beautiful watch! on my wish list as of.. now!
Case and colours remind me of an SNK803
Love this and other minimalist watches, like the Junkers you show as well. Thanks for reviewing these, hope to get to see more of these watches, maybe even a Junghans (or even better a Nomos 🤔)
Dame you Jody! Another one on my ever expanding wish list... my wife is in the background tutting
Hey, Jody! First off, I'd like to thank you for the review of another micro brand. With that being said, thank you for expanding the horizons of your fellow watch enthusiasts on which companies to look at for different watch designs and conversation starters. Second, although that watch would definitely be a conversation starter, it would look too large on my small wrist. I would like the design more if all the numerals were larger just a bit. But I'd rather go for a Stowa or the Junghans Max Bill for a German watch. Or maybe a Laco. And lastly, I sent you an email. I understand if you may be pretty busy at the moment, but if you don't mind reading it, I'd greatly appreciate it! Cheers, mate!
Love dial numbers, gorgeous!
It's a nice effort.
Not too bad, Thanx Jody... 👍
The black one looks like the quartz braun, nice review Jody
Good video. I want a German watch another brand to keep an eye on for sure.
I really like that watch
looks good
I like it myself. I saw it advertised on FB.
I usually lean toward divers and gmts but I like this watch, nice review Jody.
lf they make a set of bathroom scales lm interested ,
I think that probably I would have a few problems to read this dial, but the watch looks nice

Choose the black one then. www.lilienthal.berlin/zeitgeist-black-black-light-brown
Just been looking at a 1950's junghans on eBay with a similar look, less the crown, (which I like) Nice choice to review
Great review. Stunning watch, although I do think they should have gone for black outline hands to help the legibility. I bought a few affordable, stunning quality leather watch straps from Eichmuller (wearing on my cocktail time and Orient Star Classic) and I can definitely agree, Germany knows how to make a good leather watch strap
Gorgeous watch. Not a fan of the pastel lavender second hand. But other than that, not too shabby! You can tell they payed attention to watch enthusiasts that prefer the minute hands touching the indices.
Well I like it !
I would love to see you review another similar micro German watch brand, Sternglas, they started with quartz only but recently released some automatics, they look great.
Why is it so hard for these companies to keep non-divers at or below 40mm!?

As someone with ridiculously large hands and very long flat wrists, I actually appreciate larger watches. But some of them look stupid on the wrong guy.
This one right up my alley. Great case, great dial. Though not a huge fan of the LB logo.. think it takes a little bit away from the overall style going on there, company name would look great on its own in my opinion. If this were a 38 or 40 without that logo I don't think I could resist.
sleek looking watch! the only detail that messes with my OCD are those stitchings on the strap, they look too close to the lugs (especially the lower left one) and I'm afraid they'll wear out too soon
I'd love a red second hand and more symmetry in the screw installation.
Would go a Laco or Hamilton instead, but I think it’s a watch that will appeal to quite a few.
Nice
Nice case design. Legibility is an issue as you stated. The double stamping on the strap shows that they have a little issue with attention to details. That would make me worry about inside the watch.
This is my cup of tea... the only slight issue I see is that the hands blends into the dial a bit. Perhaps they should have gone with a different colour hand set, or perhaps made them the same colour as the case.
Would be nice if they lined up the screws in the same angle... 😉
Great review as always, not sure about the beige though, it's all just a bit, well beige, anything else probably looks far better.
I have the quartz version and love it! The cost was $150 on a sale and I'm almost embarrassed to love a watch this cheap!
The US version of the lilienthal website prices these at over $600.00. As there is a lot of formidable watch-competition at that price-range, I think it will be challenging for these to get market share.
Great video and review. I think the watch should have been 40mm though, instead of 42 1/2mm.
looks nice just to plain for my taste cheers
Was that Bruce Kulick in the watch box photograph?
That was an interesting unboxing. Never seen anything like it. As you know many fine watches from Germany use Swiss movements and they are not that far from Switzerland. Not really for me. Long as you enjoy it. You might find better value with ETA 2824 as they lost their patent a long time ago, they can be cloned legally. I do enjoy your channel as you bring watches I have never seen before. Rather than the same old stuff we see on other channels. I am a fan of microbrands and also homages. Some hate one or both.
Not familiar with these watches but seems to have good design integrity in a nice package with with no glaring aesthetic fumbles. Very attractive watch. History of munged up screws on other unit is worrisome but hopefully they have fixed that. Not sure I'd throw $ 500 at it but it seems to have it's act together.
That looks like a lucky bag watch lol. Greetings fae yer hameland. :)
This is a nice minimalist dial, but I think it would look nicer with blue hands.
Probably going to pick one of these. I like the watch, the marketing is sort of overboard with the people in the box. Let the product speak for itself.
Waiting for your Zelos sky raider full review you have mentioned in one of your videos that you will review it before 15th January if I’m not wrong. And i like hour videos ❤️❤️❤️👍 lots of ❤️

Minimalist but very pretty watch
I like this, it's very modern, but waywayway out of my price range especially after currency exchange. Also that crown's gonna be a problem.
If it had a domed glass I'd buy it now
I prefer a strong contrast between hands and dial so that I can read the time quickly. The hand and dial colours are too similar on this watch. Interesting design though and I’m a fan of bead blasted cases.
I've had this watch about a year. I'm not impressed with the stand by time when it's not being used. And I think the winding mechanism to get it going once it's stopped has failed as I turn the crown and the second hand doesn't move. I have to shake the watch. I feel an email to Lilienthal coming on....
I actually never saw this german brand in Germany. Maybe I was blinded by the Tudor BB 58 at the Königsallee AD in Düsseldorf or the 500 Euro price tag of the Sarb 033 in a German store.
I bought the L1 when it first came out for my teenage son. It isn't bad, I think it looks a *little* bit better than a fashion house watch. The hands would have been better if blued rather than skeleton. For 500, I'd go for either a lower end Laco or Seiko. Lilenthal watches look a bit too much like fashion house watches tbh.

* Makes a stylish minimalist dress watch with hour and minute hands in "stealth mode" against the dial colour. * Proceeds to make it 42.5mm in diameter with 49mm lug to lug and charges $800 AUD for it. Well, they've captured the zeitgeist of current watchmaking, at least. Rouse me from my bunk when they make something sub-40mm for a more competitive price. (I also note on their website they don't allow shipping outside of the EU and don't seem to provide a VAT-free price).
Really interesting that you prefer that over the eta, even when it's completely plagiarised the original?
Very unique design but the dial text ratio is just not the right size. The color contrast with the hands is also a problem.
Very nice vid! Can you please help me with one question: how loud is the watch? Automatic watches tend to be make quite some noices when you move them (and charge them) and you sometimes tend to hear the seconds counter The more silent the better in my opinion
Personally I like minimal writing on the dial and "War and Peace" on the caseback.
I was thinking that Zeiteist would indicate a loud orange faced watch that didnt work most of the time,at least here in good ole Murica.

Time to take down the Christmas tree!
Meh. I just got my Cadisen. The one you reviewed a few months ago. I'll stick with that for $55 Canadian.
It's a beauty but I think 22mm lug width would've worked better. The 20mm looks disproportionate in the video to me
Why is it every time I hear of The Germans I recall a certain Fawlty Towers episode?.....Does this piece have a cunning coil of piano wire coiled within the case? Does it walk around in Speedos? Does it not have a sense of humour? ......Junkers did make some superb aircraft mind! The price on the piece......Achtung! Sorry I always lower the bloody tone!!!!!! Jesting and fine review,Len.

Way too much blank space on the dial. If they made it a 40mm and pumped up the printing about 30% it would be better. Case finish is nice,. The crown design looks like it would be hard to use.
Zeitgeisty
I will pass, good movement though. Legibility issue for me, maybe with some contrasting hands this would catch my eye.
Just save up for a Stowa

My zeitgeist just feinted. Not for me. Lovely strap but legibility issues for these old eyes. Also, in the hand it looked like a woman’s watch. Great review as always Jody.

Are there hands on that watch? I think that crown design is actually a failure. Looks and feels nice, sure, but not particularly functional. I have really never, and I mean NEVER had a crown at either 3 or 4 o’clock bother me. I bet most people would agree. It’s usually the over-engineered crown guards (ahem, Panerai) that are the problem. Seems like this crown design is a solution in search of a problem. The whole thing gets a “meh” from me. And beige, really? Reminds me of an old IBM PC.

Choose a different colour then: www.lilienthal.berlin/zeitgeist-black-black-light-brown The crown is perfect. I own the L1. Same crown. Perfect design. No problems operating it. Get one in your hands before you start "meh"-ing.

A beautifully made watch but it disappears somewhat on the wrist. If you’re willing to pay $500 to stare at it, it would be just fine with me ... I love German watches!
Ehhh....i like the strap ??? 😕
I can understand people liking the minimalistic style of the dial, but the decision to make the dial and hands the same color (lack of contrast) mystifies me.

@@ChristianKrean yeah, but I think they're trying to be like swatch. Modern, cool, and quality. All their stuff is manufactured in Southern Germany. Although, I won't deny that it is a fashion watch, just one that you can't buy on aliexpress for $12, and with a very expensive Swiss movement.
I don't mind the dial, as it offers something different to other typical dress watches. However, I just don't like bead blasted cases on the entire case. It just looks like a cheap finish, as they didn't bother with any brushing, which requires more craft to it. I can allow for some bead blasting but not for the whole thing. It feels like they cut a corner on the finishing. Also that crown design just looks awful, and having to access it all the time, it'll be horrible to use.
Well I am not going to corect your spelling 😋

The next model: Zeitgeist Intense, dial complete white, blank with white hands and white plastic wriststrap (vegan edition). Show nothing, clean minimalism in its essence. It would be a perfect representation of the metrosexual millennial, ie blank, unisex, empty.

How can it happen, that a German "watch company" in our modern times with high ISO quality standards provides a product with f****d up screws to a customer? The recessed crown is standard to most SEIKO S5 since the seventies, so no real genius there either. So let´s put it together: Fine, but purchased movement (that´s where the REAL engineering takes place); low quality control; good sounding German heritage name; rather "high" price. I am German, but this odd little iron is an insult, nothing more. In that price range I´d go for any Seiko at any time. On the upper shelf I´d tend to buy Nomos or, preferably Glashütte Original. Yes, they start about NO 2000/ GH at 5000 bucks, but they represent REAL German handcrafted watchmaking, and not some hipster design selling fashion company on a swiss mass-product movement. I´d NEVER buy a watch with a external purchased movement. NEVER. But I really DO like your fresh commentary and your reviews on watches, always very entertaining and educating. Keep up the good work.

I think Laco have some more affordable watches in their lineup too, under their 'classics'. I have a couple of their watches, sadly a grail watch is way out of my budget :) But at the more affordable end - you are right, Seiko, Laco. At the Lilenthal price point - you've now got Timex automatics that a good too.
Replace that expensive sellita with an nh35 and I'll give you $75 for the watch.....no more....
