41 minutes and 9 seconds of rapture! He was a photo God! VERY nice coverage of his work, great job Joel. I was just enthralled, he's such a master. I was thrilled to see sooooo many minutes and examples of his gorgeous work. So much gravitas in the frame, such a learning experience here. Not a great painter tho, lol, really had a hard time enjoying even one of those. But MAN could that guy take a picture and create a houseful of grace, emotion, space, light, composition, texture in a click. Thanks ever so much, this video is tour de force Joel.

One of the greatest photographers of our time. Extraordinary vision and skill of the craft. I was fortunate enough to see his gallery exhibit in NYC at the Marlborough Gallery in the early 80's. His platinum prints in person are breathtaking. It was indeed an impactful moment for this young (at the time) photographer. Thanks Joel, Kurt

God he was good. Good at so many genre for such a long period of time. I have several of his books. I particularly like the small trades book. His retro exhibition in the Grand Palais in Paris in 2017 was exceptional.

Irving Penn did so much in one life. The artist and arranger, the scientist / chemist, and those portraits of perfection are a class above. This sort of perfectionist of the image would likely have a mental break-down doing street photography. You take the moment the best way you can on the street. There are so many forms of photography and of all which Penn entered into, or even created, as in technics, it is amazing to master so many.

@@Joel_Ulises thks to your efforts, young photographers can be introduced to the works of the ones who started it all. Watching your Irving Penn episode, I thought of Horst because, before Penn, he introduced the art concept to the covers of Vogue (famously portrayed in the corset Madonna wears in her Vogue video, which is taken from one of Horst pictures). Also thought of Karl Blossfeldt, a unique photographer who showed, like no other the concept of high design and architecture within nature. Also Cristina Garcia Rodero, a spaniard whose images of the religions traditions and rites in Spain, and elsewhere, are nothing but breathtaking. And to add to the mix, Floria Sigismundi, a video/movie director who is truly pushing the envelope with her photographs. Ricardo

Well-done video. My only gripe is the misleading title. Where are the candid portraits? I only saw very carefully posed portraits, which are Penn's thing. The film clip from Morocco was enlightening.
