I did what I was told. “I couldn’t take it anymore. The pain and the fear that weren’t mine. I never planned to join the syndicate. I just couldn’t stay here. They reached out to me, offered me a place. I told him that I wouldn’t kill for them. They never made me. “I don’t regret leaving. I don’t regret what I’ve done. I regret leaving you here. Because I know the association hasn’t changed and I can’t bear the thought of them making you do what they made me do. Please remember, there is always a place for you with me. With us. “There is so much more to what’s going on than you know. Every member of the syndicate? The association? You don’t know the whole story. It’s never as black and white as hero and villain.” I felt inspired so I wrote a thing… I love the idea of heroes being just as bad as/worse than villains. :)

After reading this comment I might as well add my bitt “You never will be nothing but a tool to them once you show a different opinion that doesn’t align to their agenda they’ll either kill you or force you to do what they want! Mmmmmm I’m guessing the heroes wrong us some how. Also theory, what the reason why us personally don’t like the treaty is because it gives heroes less regulation on terrible behavior heroes may commit when trying to hunt down villain and some of the heroes are no better than the villains condemn. Okay, theory: It is a fact that the Listener is very strategic and was selfless/good when a hero. Therefore, they are being a double agent and are not telling the heroes their plan to avoid any suspicion. The listener “villain” plans on betraying the Syndicate soon, and wishes they could tell Flashpoint but cannot; especially because they are so close to succeeding in their plan. If this is a correct theory, woo! If it is not, I am claiming a head-cannon until Part 2 is released!😂 Genuinely love the story lore and voice acting, wow!💞

“I think it’s time we chat” Me: should’ve seen this coming

Ok theory ig: What if the reason the listener became a villain was because the villain's threatened to hurt Pebbles (idk the name for the character in the audio if he even is a character so im just gonna go with Pebbles) and instead of wanting to save the world the listener wanted to protect Pebbles regardless of how he saw them afterwards because them loved him and would rather let their relationship burn if it ment Pebbles wouldn't get hurt. So the listener made a deal with the villains to help them and not give anything up to the hero society in exchange for Pebbles safety. Then later on when the listener is captured the reason as to why they are smiling/smirking is because when Pebbles tells them the plan about capturing the villains they knew it would work and that once the villains where caught Pebbles would be safe even though the listener is now locked up forever.

Theory: MC's capture was planned for whatever due to her connections to the hero society, that is corrupt in ways Pebbles is unaware, and scheduled for a break out during the meeting which will be under attack at the same time as the escape

I hope there's gonna be more parts of this! The word building sound so cool, and I'm so gonna make Oc's set in this world :D

Literally my favorite thing, heroe turned villain, I love it! Also off topic, if anybody likes this kind of stuff story wise, and are interested in interactive novels , I highly recommend Fallen Hero: Rebirth

As he stared at them from across the table, mixed feelings settled in his stomach. It was like looking into a broken mirror, infront of him was something..someone villianous..monsterous, but he saw.. he knew behind it was a broken and damaged hero, their cold, glaring eyes, in his head, were replaced by their shy, warm ones, that shy smirk, was that bright smile they always wore, that could light up any room.. he still saw them as..them, a person he admired, looked up to and ..even loved, he believed they could change, come back to him,, to hero society, the society he sees no cracks in..but they do, they spotted the people the ''heroes'' slip through those cracks, and blame it on ''collateral'' They see the faulty foundation this house was built on, while he looks out the window of crime with an eye of judgement. While he thinks his society perfect, he's kept safe in a buker, as they fight the war above, fighting for the injustice, they're determined to succsess, even in they play dirty.

Oh man, I love this concept--the syndicate being based on the Greek underworld? Priceless -Nyx is already my favorite- -oh man but we're Hypnos?! That's so cool!!- Tbh, being disabled during the pandemic is absolutely my supervillain origin story now so I absolutely get turning on humanity xD Wait, so...we can control people through video...and the CC TV is going to be broadcast into the heroes' eyeballs (ew, btw, i bet i went evil just to avoid that lol)... Could we, theoretically, use the opportunity to hack into every hero's head via the broadcast? 👀

Ohh I'd love to see a part 2 to this! Maybe the listener will have to choose between their villainess and partner?👀 But of course, you have many audios to complete Pebbles so no pressure! Loving every audio you create

I cant figure out if Hypnos is deep undercover for the heroes to take down the syndicate from the inside...Or deep undercover for them in a classic "You fool I wanted to get caught, you played right into my hands" kind of deal. I haven't even really watched MHA yet and I got some vibes with it regarding Hypnos' actions. As for how this whole thing started, either it's by their choice because of betrayal, or the ultimate irony; Hypnos themselves could be under some kind of mind control or brainwashing from the syndicate.

Theory- getting captured by Flashpoint was actually part of all this, but Hypnos realizes their conflicted emotions over his involvement. When the time comes to usher a blow to him, Hypnos has to make the decision; make the ultimate betrayal of the person who you were closest to… or give way to the emotions that has reared its ugly head to put a wrench in your plans. I also imagine the reason that Hypnos became involved with the syndicate is because we were betrayed by the association- or we were never truly a villain to begin with and we became engrossed in an act that came to be too real.

Ok uhhh theory: Listener gets out somehow, gets to the conference thingy and looks at the cameras so they can mind control all the heros because you said the heros all have those eye things and our power works through cams. I might be reading too much into it but that info seems real important to me *Part 2 Spoilers!!* (A month later) I WAS RIGHT!!! YESSSSSS!!! I’m gonna put all my predictions in one comment. I think new listeners gonna have the same/similar powers as Hypnos, or something about new us is just so flipping similar to Hypnos that it trips Christopher up. Also I think at the end we make superhero’s legal again, or at least make using powers in public legal. It’s discrimination:(

This audio was so emotional I was crying during the last part of it, but still amazing as all your audio's

I absolutely loved the acting in this one Pebble! Amazing job srsly! As for my theories. I feel like there's more to us than what meets the eye. I feel like we are actually on a highly secretive mission to encroach the Haidan Syndicate and become a spy in their midst to ultimately gather enough information to bring them down. Because no meter how hard the hero's work in daylight, it's only the ones who act, think and believe in the Haidan's causes are the ones who can understand them to break them down. We are just disguised as a terrible villain to make everyone, even our ex partner believe that we are truly gone, when in reality we are pulling off what no hero cud ever do. Well for now I hope our ex partner doesn't call us Hypnos anytime soon :)

I kind of a theory, since the reader can hypnotize/mind control, usually an hypnotize state is emotionless or cold personality. What if the villains were able to you the Listener's powers against the listener, it would kind of make sense why the reader is not acting themselves. But then again it just a theory that I came up with while listening and eating roman noodles. Pebbles you did an amazing job again can't wait to see what happens next.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Hero’s with absolute power to do and go anywhere will quickly become rotten at its core and becomes what they feared. Perhaps that is why your “hero” turned, to balance the equation and prevent the cancer from taking hold.

Wow amazing audio. There's so much to speculate/theorize. Did the listener convert because they found something out about the hero organization? Or were they struggling with some internal conflicts that no one knew about and that lead them to villainy? Man, there's so much to think about 🤔

Hero ‘n Villain duet by Natalie Chavez (mb) seemed to be a very fitting song that describes this relationship in my head, very emotional and heartbreaking. Great job as always!

Am I the only one who kinda wants to remain a “villain”. If the character had such strong convictions… and let them go, there has to be something that led to that change. I personally would love a story where we remain villains and reveal the corruption in the government/hero commission… I’d also take blackmail. If this Hades character really is that powerful, maybe they’re powerful enough/smart enough to find that weakness that would make the character sacrifice their morals. Are we keeping him safe? Family? Maybe we’re hoping to use what we learn to take Hades down in the end? Oooh, this is gonna be good

I’ve re-listened to this a couple times and it finally got me wondering. Why did Hypnos become a villain? Based on what Flashpoint was saying, it seems that Hypnos really did enjoy being a hero, or a hero-in-training, so what was that unknown reason that got Hypnos to turn? Did they somehow fall victim to their own power? Did Syndicate threaten or convince them? Were there any rumors that were flying that Hypnos was sensitive about? Did Hades do something that made Hypnos? I need the tea! 😭😭

It's been days, but I've been playing hades the game again since like a couple of weeks ago and I still can't disconnect the names and characters so I'm imagining them as I listen lol (minus the ones that don't show up in the game of course, but they're still imagined in that style) I'm interested to see where this goes though. I agree with other comments that it gives a double agent feeling, but also could be listener realized or overheard that some of the other heroes would want to take advantage of the free-to-cross border thing and decided to do whatever they could to try to stop it. I mean, I'd also be worried about super powerful people potentially going unchecked (it's one of the reasons I didn't like the direction ironman was going in the later mcu movies, I get his reasons but there's a limit, you know?). But I also like when villains aren't actually evil, but just doing their own version of the right thing through the wrong means (or what the government's decided is the wrong means) and getting labeled as villains. There was a different hero vs villain rp I listened to a few years ago, though the listener was the hero in that one, that hinted at the hero being on the wrong side, but it only had one part. So it'd be cool to see something like that actually play out. Either way, there are several ways this can go, be it individually or mixed together, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it branches out. (Sorry if this is ramble-y, tends to happen when I'm sleep deprived so I'm just gonna blame it on that)

Okay! I can already name a few things wrong with the whole 'able to go over the national and federal law' thing! I'm gonna name the big one that keeps reoccurring in my head: If someone with powers can just be above the national law, then that means they're above the rule of law itself and that kind of thing could corrupt even the most kindhearted of people. So, I see where the listener is coming from if that's what they're trying to stop Anyways! Great audio and I look forward to seeing this story play out
