Although Captain Picard is a fictional character, I have long admired his ethical perspective and integrity. It serves as a model and striking contrast with what we see in the world today.

I only just noticed how subtly Sir Patrick Stewart says "condemn a man for his... bloodline" with profound disgust at the very idea that Saati is doing such a barbaric thing.

This is really, quite honestly, beautiful. Thank you so much for making this, and thank you for including scenes from ST: Picard!

I only started revisiting this show last year and I have to say that I had almost completely forgotten the pre-9/11 sensibilities this show exuded with extravagant profligacy. Every one of Picard's speeches and arguments felt like a rush of pure sanity and reason and it had been oh so very long since I'd tasted such vintage. It's almost enough to make one believe in hope again.

Thanks Ryan. I wish the whole planet Earth could see and LISTEN to this.

Picard always had this amazing wisdom. The writers who created his character are brilliant. As a manager who grew up watching Star Trek, I take alot of cues from Picard.

Curiosity is what brought me to Star Trek, but the ethical situations is what made me keep watching and Picard is like a beacon of ethics for humanity, although even he had flaws at times.

I just watched the teaser for PICARD season 2. This makes for a wonderful follow-up!

Watching the speech to O'Brien at 4.45 and feel it closely describes Picard at the start of Picard season 1.

I'm so glad the "fear will destroy us" speech from ST:P made it into this thing. Really overlooked moment in an extremely overhated series.

I'd follow this guy into the unexplored expanse of deep space

I miss shows that offered some valuable lesson other than "the world sucks".

Just don't tell him you _seek peaceful coexistence._

Some context would've been good in order to understand the lessons Picard provided.

Quite disappointing to have Picard as a role model for a leader when I was a kid, and to seeing the world leaders today. Current president of USA cannot even put a sentence together.

All of the ST Picard speeches pale in comparison to the writing that was in TNG. They're bland uninspired little bits of dialogue that are creatively bankrupt.

I believe in TNG Picard... not the one that came in the movies and Star trek PEEcard

New trek tends to write their characters as emotional infants and fairly one dimensional. Maybe it's a sign of our culture today. I have no idea. The one clip from Picard wasn't a great speech by any means. It was Picard telling someone he had just met that "he knows her and trusts her"... It's not believable by any means. The other clip talking about rights/responsibility wasn't bad, but by no means stands up to TNG standards. It's more emotional than idealistic and seemed to have little weight behind it. I also find it strange when people give their opinions the response tends to be to basically shut up and not watch... why can't I watch and critique? Bad trek is still better than no trek.

I prefer real role models, like Jesus Christ, but hes fine for a fictional role model i guess.
