Everyone who weilded shield, including Cap, had to practice to develop the skills. If you watch those scenes closely where Falcon is practicing, the shield behaves very differently depending on where he throws it.

Before the serum, he only threw the shield straight and caught it as it went straight back. He only ever did a Cap deflection shot during that promotional video they showed, and that was a setup shot. Like the target was set up specifically for that shot. It's crazy difficult to do a multi target shot in combat, and Sam did it without serum. Walker only ever did it once after he got the serum and for a setup target.

Considering the weight of the shield, any human should be able to throw the shield in a straight path. The only time Walker did an angled shot with the shield pre-serum was during the promotional video at a target that was set up for it.

Cap catches the shield with his right hand then puts it in his left arm (Which is more realistic). Now, anyone can freaking catch the shield double-strapped directly inside into their forearms. LOL

i assume that the shield is more traditional now( 1 strap and a handle) and there just catching it by the handle

after winter soldier entire persona of Captian America became even better.....for some reason everyone starts respecting him, his fight style improves to extreme

But still Steve did it better bro, I think that the fact that Steve Rogers was a wimp but also a brave man that wanted to fight to protect the people, and seeing his evolution since the first avenger to Endgame was pretty cool, I mean Sam is also cool, but Steve is the original and best cap, the fun fact is that Sam also was chose as the NEW Captain America for fighting racism but it has done the contrary effect, cause when a person says I preffer Steve Rogers (because he is way more cool), at least 10% of people call him a racist when he's not, we just gotta admit that Steve will always be the Cap and that Sam is Falcon carrying the legacy of his mentor, he's not strong as him, but he's also a good man.

Must say, the shield ricochet featured in The Falcon & the Winter Soldier were EXTREMELY amazing! Wish I knew how they did them! Those effects were extraordinarily magnificent!

My favorite MCU weapon. While I love how Sam and Bucky catch the shield while practicing, my head hurts thinking how logistically improbable it is to hook your arm through the straps as it returns to you--let alone EVERY time it does.

Sam ain't a super soldier, but he trained real hard to get to that Captain America level.

Oh no the shield's one weakness, a plastic chair.

Something that bothers me about more recent shield throws. When they catch it, they're catching it with their arm through the straps. The thing is spinning there's no way its gonna be aligned for that. It happened earlier in the MCU a few times but Steve would mostly catch it by the edge with his right hand, then put it back on his left. Same goes for throwing it. Instead of throwing it straight off the arm he would take it off and hold it by the edge or one strap and throw it. I dunno just the fact that they exclusively do it the more cartoony way now bugs me.

The star spangled man with a rare metal shield frisbee that disobey the laws of physics.

Now Sam Wilson is my captain America I just love him. When cap whielded the shield everyone was happy but when Sam took it up there were sadness and questions in everyone's mind and that makes him more powerful and respectful bcz Sam isn't gonna fight only with aliens, wizards or androids but also to those people who doesn't think he is worthy of this title and it would be amazing to see in the big screen. Can't wait for Captain America 4

we all know the orginal cap had aimlock in his dna.

beforebthe end when bucky and sam are throwing the shield alternately, without the conversation it seemed like they were competing lol

I don’t know if anyone said this already, but i love how it goes from high octane music filled throwing to the guys tossing back in forth in the yard with no dialogue

Jon Favreau made all of this possible. Had his iron man movie been bad, there would not have been a universe.

Cap's throwing his shield, reminds me of Xena throwing her chakram.

Out of topic but Walker was already strong as frick before the serum, as if he is the peak of normal, unmodified human strength. I'd say it's not wrong if someone believe that if we only compare brute strength, Walker is far superior than Steve. But we all know Steve would win in a hypothetical one-on-one fight with Walker due to his way better overall stats and experience. But if the "fight" is only the two of them taking turns punching each other, I think Walker would win. If Walker is the brute strength type and Sam Wilson is the techniques type, then Steve is the perfect combination of the two types. Anyways, It's funny to see him so disappointed when his bootleg shield didn't come back after it was kicked by Karli

I've always summed this ability up to Supersoldier ability. Seriously he is above what a regular human can do. Tossing that shield with 0 training [unlike later captains in MCU] is that formula.

Supercut indeed, amazing compilation! Thanks for sharing! There are too many comments about *the assumption* that people who aren't Steve always catch the shield double-strapped to the arm. As if that's truly the most unbelievable thing about that oversized frisbee made of a fictional super metal. I said assumption because we don't see many close ups. What we did see in AoU is that magnets can be used, so any Avenger could have magnets on hand. Definitely not the same as in Steve's suit, which had an impressive range, but to hold onto the shield since they're not supersoldiers with superior coordination. They looked flat over Steve's suit so they should look flat under long sleeves. Clint, Natasha, Walker and Sam aren't average people, they can train to catch the shield (as was shown for Sam) whichever way works even without magnets. There are literally two straps, getting your hand flat through one is enough, the shield won't fall off and it will still look good from the other side.

Captain America is the best film. And the first Captain's uniform is the best

I love how they all subtly have a difference. Steve is able to do crazy trick shots cause the serum helps his senses, John is accurate cause he is a peak soldier and aced every single test for the shield, sam is a normal human so he has to use his agility to help sometimes like rotating or twisting when throwing or catching it

One of the coolest uses of the Shield throw has to go to Sam using it to smash through a helicopter to stop one of the Flag Smashers (dude did earn that ass-whupping after all). Though I would say that Steve being able to quickly react to catch the shield from Clint and with a split-second reaction manage to accurately destroy the Ultron-puppeted Legion bot was also very epic.
