I remember when watching the shows his constant smoking and commenting about his health. It's too bad he was unable to let go of cigarettes, but even so, he was obviously in bad health to have gone at 53. It's a wake up call for those of us who are now churning through the 50's. Of course I do send my sympathies to his family and those closest to him..

We will miss Captain Phil. But his sons will carry on the tradition.

looking at Capt Phil I cant believe how much he aged in the last years ,he looks really good in this video

Phil was probably my favorite captain on this show, then sig, then the hillstrands. But these guys are setting themselves for exactly what happened to Phil with their smoking and other bad habits. Ya crab fishing is a stressful job but their are better ways to deal with stress than doing things that will kill you.

if anyone remember, last season he had a mild stroke. It was during night time they were all crabbing on deck and Capt. Phil was in his cabin smoking, and all of a sudden he had problem breathing and smooshed/squished his cigarette so tight and it lasted atleast 2 minutes and when everyone found out about it they were so worried and want him to quit smoking and he said yes then after an hour or so he became agitated and irritated so he decided to smoke again.

R.I.P. Phil He was a great Captain and father.... Way too young to go God bless

I have the game for PC and have spent many an hour on it, thankfully i've never had my ship sink! lol It's not a high quality production made by 200+ people like many of the big time games that come out today, but it is still great if your a fan. also glad to see this, it's cool to see some "off camera" stuff with these guys.

Look - you don't need to go via boating to find friends. It's a lot of work and you may not like the boats and then you won't get any boat friends anyway.
