This is Part 2 of an eleven-day road trip my wife and I did to celebrate our seventh anniversary. Waking up in the tent we head to town before we trek into the Canyonlands National Park.
Island in the Sky is approximately 10 miles north of Moab or 22 miles south of I-70 on US 191. Turn onto UT 313 and drive southwest for 22 miles. The visitor center is about a 40-minute drive from Moab.

The desert sun is relentless; water is your lifeline. Sunscreen and wide-brimmed hats are excellent options for protecting your skin. Do not forget to safeguard your feet! The desert floor hides thorns and secrets; let your shoes serve as defense.
