Great piece of kit my friend, I recall 20 + years ago back when I was racing. Had a Cervelo all carbon fiber. So I get swapping out the gearing, we would also run helium in the tires because it was supposed to be lighter than conventional air. We looked for every possible weigh adjustment those days.

most or all red cranks comes with a power meter. I'm a bike caynon fan.. so good job.

there's and option to buy the crank with no power meter. $743. With power meter its about $1200.

Great video. I have the same model, and straight out of the box the Rival crankset came off, replaced with Easton. 400 grams lighter, bringing my new bike far closer in weight to a CFR - for much less $$$. The rest of the Rival is excellent.

Yes, any bike with 62mm plus wheelset is going to be twitchy in crosswind. I got a set of 45's on my Aeroad. Provides a little weight reduction as well.

Great video. Currently looking at the same bike. Wondering how hard it was to change cranks? Did you do it, or bike shop?

super easy, less than 5 minutes. A bike shop did it because i did not have some of the special tools required.

I Have the same bike ( but with Shimano Ultegra Di2 ) sorry no Sram for me. But yes awesome bike for the money.

i didn't know it comes with power meter on this model. not listed in spec on website thanks

how is the Medium fit you? i am 6'1" with 33" inseam and online said L but guess could go medium. you mentioned you're 6'2" and order medium, want to see how fit before make my purchase. thank you

Great value bike for what you pay! I purchased the CF SLX 8 in Hot Salsa with Sram Force eTap group set. Its a super fast bike. Im 6' and got size medium, which equates to a 56cm. You must have a 32 inch inseam. However, at 6'2" you may need a longer stem. Medium come with a 100mm stem. Unfortunately you have to change the entire integrated aero bar. Would be interested to know how your overall fit feels. I did change out the wheelset. 62mm was a bit too deep for me. Got a 45mm wheelset on the bike now.

Hey there, I'm also looking to purchase to the CF SLX 8. The recommended sizing for me was M as well but I was wondering if you could provide any feedback with how your ride feels on the bike. I have a 31.4 inch inseam when converted. I've mainly rode mountain bikes my whole life and have dabbled with road bikes for about three years on a Giant Defy 1 and now I'm looking into purchasing my first Aero bike. It's unfortunate that I don't know anyone with similar dimensions as me to test out the sizing lol

Im going to assume you had a SRAM Red crankset on hand prior to purchasing the bike...If not get the CFR with SRAM Red.

Yes. I had the crank sitting around. CFR is $8k. I'm not quite there yet so I'll spend half of that on an SLX instead.

yes. it kept slipping down. had to torque over the recommended setting. all good two months later

with the change of crankset, you lose the powermeter really?
