Canterbury off the beaten track - Abbot's Mill and Solly's Orchard!

In this video I discover some of the less well known parts of the city of Canterbury in the area of St Radigunds.
Solly's Orchard is now a beautiful gardens area, along the banks of the River Stour; a great place to chill out and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.
I then move onto the Abbot's Mill. This was once a 6-storey water mill that ground corn and wheat for the city. (I forgot to mention in the video that it was originally owned by St Augustine's Abbey, which is where it gets its name). This structure actually burnt down in 1933 and now there is just a lock and gardens area to commemorate the structure that once stood in that place.
This part of town in just a 5 minute walk from the high street and is well worth checking out if you have some free time when you're in Canterbury.
Thanks for watching! And if you enjoyed this video please subscribe for more content that may be up your street!

Taking me to places I've never been to in my own country. Looks nice but I bet it's not a cheap place to live.

It's not mate! That's the drawback of Canterbury, it's not London prices but not far off! I imagine it's cheaper in Blackpool!

Yes that's the issue with cheap places to live. It's the same in Margate, beautiful town but many people commute to other places for work. @@ThailandFoodWalk
