Personally, I love your format Dave, simple and honest. Maybe you could do some form of cheat sheet for the menu items. Like a list with columns of what does and what doesn't carry over from each mode? If you need this mocking up in After Effects I can help :)

I have the 600D and I was shooting at the sunset time but not a sunset scene, one was a flower and the other was a street, I use M mood most of the time. These two times when i tried to adjust my shutter speed with the Fstop the metering scale on my lcd screen started to jump from left to right like a rabbit and never stopped in the middle and when I take the picture it is either over or underexposed. Is that normal or there is something wrong with my camera? it's brand new bought it last week

I got a t3i recently and it is so much pain to learn all these settings. no doubt its a great product. I wish Steve Jobs created easy to use DSLRs before he left this planet.
