Solid review of the V10. This looks like it'll work for me best as a selfie camera whenever I'm traveling. I like the ultra-wide-angle lens and the landscape-when-vertical shooting. Although at $430 it's too much money for what I potentially will use it for. I'll follow your advice and wait until it's about $299 (or lower!).

I sometimes skate or bike downtown to film parts for my videos and i dont always like to lug my r10 with me, I picked up an v10 as a portable camera even if the video quality aint that hot i think it will work just fine for those on the run shots.

What codecs are you shooting with the lumix cameras? Are you color grading? This video looks very nice and crisp! I’m waiting to get my s5iix and would love some tips

Shooting 4k 8bit 4:2:2 MP4. And shooting Cinelike V2 with no adjustments. Just straight out of the camera.

We actually shot everything in the lower file size 4k mode! Cinelike V2 baked in! Super simple!

I am so tempted to buy this - but of course, it is way more expensive in Australia. :(

The real game-changer here is the form-factor of this camera. Btw, V10 has a removable battery, if you check the user manual at p.315 :) Anyway, the optical stabilisation is not an issue for vlogging camera in my opinion... Actually, the best practice to record a dynamic scene is with still camera on stand or tripod and calibrated horizon, not the opposite - fixed object or face and shaking camera that needs to be stabilised, as an action camera. It is strange that nobody is discussing the significant sensor resolution per pixel, the live streaming, cloud integration, remote controlling, the brilliant color management, the embedded ND lens filter, etc... The price is practically irrelevant for this product.

its also good for podcasting for beginners when you need 2 scenes and you don't have that much money for more expensive camera

It's fun! I think the V100 will be the one to get with the larger sensor and dual pixel AF but we'll see! This little guy is actually kind of awesome as is... the footage does look pretty shakie though

@@GHPod Oh i'm sure the V100 will get the bigger sensor but it'll most likely be bigger as well. That's what I'm not wanting. I want the V10 because it's super tiny. Plus the USB protocol to use as a webcam is fantastic for the price! Even the Sony ZV-1F doesn't have that and that's almost $100 more. There's a LOT to like and this is my main camera recommendation to most new vloggers or content creators now. There's a creator meetup once a month where I live and most if not all either use their phones or a G7X (there's about 50-60 people in this meetup and only 2-3 use bigger cameras). I imagine this camera being a big hit in our little meetup.

So you compare it to the sony zv1 that cost double the money ??? How about comparing it to the zv1f which cost 499.99 and the v10 429.00. If you compare these two the canon is the better option imo as that Sony is awful.

Have both sony has better autofocus,video quality and charging capabilities...canon on the other hand better build quality

The Canon V10 is a CINEMA camera, change my mind
